We get into Haz's car, and he starts driving. "So, who's Isaac?" he asks. "He's from my school... Nothing's going on. He just invited me to this club." "Oh, okay," he nods. "I'm really sorry about Tiffany hitting you. I don't know why she did." "It's okay. I was trying to stand up for you, and things got heated." "Well, thanks... Turns out you were right about her." "Yeah." I look over and see tears in his eyes. "Hey," I say sympathetically, rubbing his arm. "It's her loss. You deserve so much better." He nods and wipes his eyes. "I'm sorry, Haz." "Me, too. I just don't understand. I thought I knew her. I thought she was happy." We get to the coffeeshop and sit down with our decaf coffee. We talk about anything and everything. "Ugh, I've missed you so much," he says, grabbing my hands, but I pull away. "What's wrong?" he asks. "Nothing." "Y/n, please, don't shut me out. Tell me." "Don't you know what you put me through? Learning to live without you was hell... Why didn't you ever call?" "I thought you didn't want me to," he says. I take a deep breath. "It's not your fault. I just..think we should be friends..for now." "Okay. I get it.... So, when can I see you again?" I laugh. "Tomorrow, if you want. You and Tom can come to my place." "That'd be great. I know Tom wants to see you, too." "Okay, cool. I'll see you tomorrow, then," I say, standing up and giving him a hug. "I've missed you, too," I say.
The next day at lunch-
I walk into the cafeteria, get my food and Isaac gestures me to sit with him. He gives me a hug and we sit down. "So, how'd it go with Harrison?" "Fine. I mean, we're just friends." "Oh, good," he says right before taking a bite of food. "Good?" "Yeah, 'cause I like you. I like you a lot," he says, staring into my soul, making me uncomfortable. "Well, thanks. You're not to bad either," I say. He laughs a little. "You should come to my house tonight," he says. "Oh, I can't. I already have plans for tonight." "Well, tomorrow night, then. I'm having my friends come over, too. "Um, okay." He's kinda pushy.
