Chapter 25 - Run Away Letter

~ 3 months later ~

*** Christina's POV ***

        We are out in the woods still looking for him. I can't believe 'he' just disappeared. Like c'mon are you really going to run away out of no where.

        "It's clear here" My new mate and search partner, Ryan, says

        "It's clear here, any sign of him where y'all are" I ask through my walkie talkie

        "It's clear here" I hear Terry and Adriana answer

        "Nothing here" Maggie says followed by Nate saying nope 

        "Empty, no trace at all" Lindsey and Nicole say

        "Report back to the cabin" I hear Adriana order through the walkie talkie

        "Copy that" Me and Ryan say making our way to the cabin. On our way there the walkie talkie occasionally sounds with the other groups answering to Audrey's command.

        We walk into the cabin and hear foot steps coming near.

~ Flashback ~

        I wake up and walk to the kitchen and see the broken furniture pieces scattered around the floor. I see a envelope on the table with my name written on it and sleepily open it up. I take out the letter and start to read it, 

Hello Christina,

I've decided to leave because I can't bear the pain of not being with my first mate. I knew that you were 'out of my league' but I thought it would be worth the try. 

I might as well tell you the real me.

I love to read and write. Football isn't my favorite sport, actually I prefer books more than sports. Yes I am not a virgin but that was only to keep my reputation to the 'popular kids'. I regret it so much and you won't understand how badly I want to take all of it back and have you in my arms.

I was blessed to be an angels mate mainly you're mate. I wish you happiness in your new mate like John Green's The Fault in Our Stars says 'It would be a privilege to have my heart broken by you' and yes it was a privilege indeed.

~ End of Flashback ~

        That is the reason why we are looking for him. We soon checked out of the hotel room the moment when 'he' disappeared. We left towards the woods and walked for an entire week with occasional stops / break. We then found this abandoned cabin and stayed in it.

        There we trained day and most of the night. Nicole and Lindsey eventually turned out to be our best trackers which surprised us a lot.      

~ 3 Months Later ~

        We soon heard information about Dylan. The police found his body, well corpse. They did an investigation and they soon found out it was suicide. I can see why you committed suicide though. The pain of the rejection probably got to his head.

         I went to the cabins bedroom and laid on the huge bed and slowly start drifting to sleep with one thing on my mind.

I am the reason why Dylan committed suicide.

I am a murderer

I killed Dylan.
