When I woke up Leroi was gone and I immediately called and checked on shay. I had a long day of work at the cleaners so I got up showered, threw on some jeans and a graphic tee with some flip flops cause I wasn’t feelin being dressed up. I opened the door to our West End cleaners, and immediately I was pissed. The smell of weed hit me in my face hard. I walked behind the counter where somebody should have been to take orders, and straight to the back room. “Rob get out here right now,” I yelled loud enough for him to hear me in the bathroom. I wasn’t sure, but it sounded like I heard him talkin to somebody.  He turned on the sink, sprayed the air freshener, and came out of the bathroom higher than gas prices. I was about to lay into him when I saw the Asian and black girl Chantrice walk out behind him.

“What the fuck- Really? You smoking in my place of business?”

“Vette let me—“

“I don’t wanna hear it. Then you got her in here smoking with you with her under-aged ass!”

“I’m sorry Vette I just—“

“Sorry ain’t gonna cut it Rob. You too old for this shit you know better, and you, “I said pointing to Chantrice,” I really don’t think your daddy would appreciate you getting high! What else was yall doin in there?”

Nobody said anything and that really pissed me off.

“Rob you got a kid and a ratchet ass baby mama so I am only gonna write you up, but this ain’t got no more times to happen, you feel me?”

He nodded yes, “And as for you Chan if you want to keep your job, and keep from getting ya ass kicked by Mr. Eddie then you will keep panties up, and mouth closed, you understand me?”

She murmured a weak yes ma’am and I stormed to my office. I had a sea of work to do and against Leroi’s wishes I was ready to hire an accountant because there was too much for me to do with having to operate two stores. I sighed and got up to fix me a cup of coffee because it was gonna be a long day. I was looking for my phone when I came across the napkin with Ramico’s number. I looked at the time and it was 8:27 so I wondered if he was up tis early. I took a chance and called him.

Me: Hello.

Ramico: Damn I thought you wasn’t gonna use my number.

Me: (Laughing) I just wanted to say good morning.

Ramico: I appreciate that beautiful.

Me: I have a long day, but I was trying to see if maybe you wanted to get lunch with me maybe around 1:00.”

Ramico: Hmmmm I have a client then, but—“

Me: Oh that’s  okay then.

Ramico: Nah he can wait the nigga don’t pay on time anyway.
