Charlie's POV
I smile to myself as we make our way back to the car, ready to head home. By now it was 11 o'clock and I knew once I got home my dad would start yelling at me and then Grant would get pissed. I would end up crying and Amelia would help calm me down. My mother would be talking to my dad telling him to let me enjoy the time I have while I'm young and that he was once the same.
Grayson pulls up to my drive way and parks the car.
"Here I walk you up to the door" he says while taking my hand and leading me to the front door.
Before I could even knock on the door my father opens it. His looked stressed but relieved that I was home.
"Charlie it's about time. Thank you Grayson for bringing her home" he says putting a small smile on his face.
"Thanks Gray for the night, I'll see you tomorrow" I say walking inside waving goodbye to Grayson. He nods and starts to walk away while I close the door.
"Really Charlotte it's 11 o'clock now. I said be home by 9. WHY ARE YOU STILL GOING OUT WITH HIM." My dad says screaming the last part.
I wished at that moment the Grayson was in his house because if he wasn't then lord know what is going to happen between us.
"What do you mean. It's Grayson your best friends son. My boyfriend, dad he isn't some criminal" I say making 'boyfriend' seem more obvious.
"What do you mean boyfriend Charlie" Grant says with his heavy ass footsteps trailing down the stairs.
"I mean that he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. I'm 17 not 5" I say placing my bag on the hook.
"No no no your 17 not 22 you don't need a boyfriend to distract you from school" Grant says sitting on the island chairs.
"What the hell do you have to say about this you only a few months older, plus is Jess a distract from University G?" I say to him.
"Keep jess out of this" he exclaims angrily taking a bite out of an apple.
"Then leave my relationship alone, I'm 17, I can make my own decisions. I know you guys are just trying to protect me but please let me live at the same time yeah?" I say looking at both of them with hopeful eyes.
"I think the hell not you have enough on your plate Charlie. He will distract you from school and basketball you have team to run now you can't be doing these type of things now" my dad says firmly.
"Oh and now all of a sudden you cared about my basketball career dad, I'm guessing the table switched after today huh. All of sudden you care about basketball dad really. Grayson came to more of my games than you have since grade 7 and I'm in grade 12 now. I've been on the school team for 4 years and I've been playing since I was 9, you always said that I was going to be distracted and that I should stop. But I was a straight A student and I still am" I say to them angrily.
"That's different bachcha (it's in Hindi the language that they speak in Charlie's family) he is not good for you" my dad says again
"Papa He isn't distracting me" I say trying to stand my ground.
"No means no. Break up with him in the morning that will be the first thing you do" my dad says.
"WHY CANT YOU LET ME BE HAPPY DAD I JUST WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE MY WAY WHATS SO WRONG IN THAT HUH" I yell, I'm losing my cool I can't take this anymore.
I slowly feel a hand connect to my right cheek.
He hit me again.
What's new it was the same thing.
I just run upstairs past my mum with my phone in my hand and head to my bed room. My body makes contact with two muscular arms wrapping around my body.
"Grayson when did you get here" I say turning around to face him.

Hey loviesWhat's up you guys
Sorry I haven't updated in a while. School has been a drag and basketball season was wrapping up and with playoffs coming by I didn't have that much time to write.
Anyways I'm sick and my throat hurts like a mother effer but it's fine.
The person I want Charlie to be in real life is Maggie Lindemann, but with a Goan type of background.
Lots of love Charlie
