There was once a kid of 10. . .

At school

Paolo met his friends at the class organization.

Fortunately, he didn't get late.

He greeted the 7 boys and the 13 girls of his class, trying to be nice and formal.

He has his male best friend, DJ, but he doesn't have a crush on any of the girls.

Some girls snickered at him while the boys teased him playfully.

"Hey, Papa Paolo!" That was DJ. A fat boy, and slightly taller than Paolo.

"Hey Dan Joshua. Or should I say Da Jackass?"

Some boys seem to suppress laughing.

"EH??? A lame joke everyday, huh? Appear!"

They grinned as they clapped their hands. And that ended their weird greeting as their PE teacher came in.

Physical education started. Paolo was now eager to study -- or maybe exercise.

Today was just physical fitness then early break . . . until the next month.

Cool enough for a kid.

The routine for the day was simple. Warm-up, push-ups, sit-and-reach and standing-long-jump.

The boys laughed at the effort of the girls, while the girls decided to move somewhere unseen.

After PE, Math subject proceeded and complaints from the students about seat works and body pain were vivid.

The day went on fast and Paolo was still lively. He is expecting the afternoon to be good, when he comes home.

At home

"Mom, when will it start," asked Paolo.

"Later, son." was the reply.

A priest was invited to go to Paolo's house and it was said that the priest would bless the house.

It wasn't that entertaining but this is something new for Paolo.

A moment later, the neighborhood speaks about a man clad in white.

"It's the priest, son! Remember to ask for a blessing," reminded his Mom.

Paolo looked out of the house and saw the man. He went out and politely asked for a blessing.

After the house was blessed, the priest did something Paolo didn't expect.

The priest threw coins everywhere and everyone eagerly collected the coins.

"Pick up some coins, son! They're blessed," urged his Mom.

Paolo did as was asked and collected 3 coins.

Shiny.

The day went on and the people thanked the priest for his presence.

Paolo went inside his house and gave the coins to his Mom.

"Thanks, Paolo. You're a good collector!" Then his Mom squeezed his cheeks. "The Lord has His delightful ways to help us!"

Paolo went to school early the next day. It's as if  the blessing were starting as soon as possible.

Paolo greeted his friends in his own fashion.

When class started, everyone sat on their chairs. Religion subject came first.

The teacher came in and began the subject with a prayer.

After the prayer, the teacher announced that there would be some sharing about yesterday's events.

DJ shared about his observations between the taste of The Bread and the wheat bread.

While Paolo shared what happened on his home.

A girl named Pamela -- tall and with chubbiness -- shared about the quote, "Things aren't always what it seem."

Too dramatic.

Everyone else shared their moments.

Two other boys, Glenn and Rafa, shared the same story.

Maki, a loud girl, shared about how loud her classmates talk.

Like she's the one to talk. Paolo laughed softly.

The subject ended, which left a light feeling.

Throughout the day, Paolo enjoyed the English subject, too -- Eating is allowed.

While he almost slept at Literature.

When dismissal proceeded, Paolo said his farewells to his classmates and went for his service.

On the way, he saw a coin. He picked it up and smiled as he thought,

A coin is blessed.

From that day, Paolo would pick up every coin he sees and gives it to his Mom everytime he turns to be blessed.

A week passed and PE followed the class organization again.

The same routine was to be followed to see improvements.

Paolo was having fun until the sit-and-reach.

His back ached and his record went down with 5 inches.

And when exercises continued, he had problems reaching his toes while standing.

Fortunately, he lasted 8 minutes on the 15-minute run. Most got around 7 minutes while the best made 11 minutes.

Those are the athletes.

Time seem to pass slower this day as Paolo  thinks about what had happened while he plays with a coin.

He wondered if this has got something to do with the saying, "No pain. No gain."

What's the problem?
