After school, Henry walked with me back to my place. We had picked up Ali from her last lesson before we left but she was distant.

"Where's Vic? Didn't you's have Science together?" I tryed to start convocation.

"Dunno." she shrugged, shoving her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket.

"What's up?" I pondered, elbowing her in the side.

"Fuck off." she groaned.

The air was awkward between all three of us.

"What's up, buttercup?" Henry asked her, sounding pretty genuine.

"I need a cig." she mumbled, fiddling with a lighter than I soon realised was one of mine.

We must have looked pretty desperate, both rummaging through our pockets for a cig, so fast someone would have thought it was a race.

I beat Henry.

I tossed her a cig with a smile. She caught it and lit it in a couple swift moves. When we reached my house, I noticed my dad's car in the drive way. I then realised that my dad had never met Ali and lowkey began to panic.

"What's up, fuckers?!" Henry yelled, slamming my front door open as if it was his own house.

No reply from my dad. I sighed in relief, he wasn't going to meet Ali while she was in a pissy mood. We all stumbled down the creaky staircase to the basement. Ali took her corner of the sofa and hogged the blanket. I had grew used to this now but Henry still raised an eyebrow at it. I sat next to her but not so close as I had the creeping urge that Henry would stab me if I did.

Henry got up and stated that he was going to the bathroom, leaving us alone, sitting and watching TV in awkward silence.

"He's making me feel really uncomfortable." she whispered, breaking the silence.

It took me by surprise.

"He keeps on trying to kiss me and won't leave me alone. I don't like it." she continued, not looking at me.

"Do you want me to speak to him about it?" I offered.

"Ha, and get yourself stabbed? No thanks." she replied sarcastically.
