The second I got home, I ran to the shower. I needed every single piece of filth gone. I felt so gross. Mentally and physically. I'm hoping the shower will take at least one away.In the shower, I thought about everything.
About how Jake is a monster, something that shouldn't exist, an animal. But at the same time, I still want to be near him, even though I'm mad. But why? Why have I fallen for him so quickly? Like it wasn't in my control at all? To others, it may seem like a simple crush, or hormones, nothing serious.
But I can feel it. Something serious is happening. I don't know what, but I have a feeling that it's not going to go away soon.
*Jake POV*
"She knows." I say, the second I see my parents in the kitchen.
"How? Is she one of us? Why don't you bring her?" My dad asked, suddenly seeming very interested.
"We were in the woods.. hanging out. A rogue attacked us, I had to protect her and she found out. She hates me now... she hates me."
"Humans can't grasp what they don't think is real. Maybe she'll come around." My mom tried to reassure me.
"Or she'll go tell everyone and expose us." My dad added, grumpily.
"She won't. I trust her."
"How can you trust some human girl!" My dad yelled.
"But, dad, I don't think she's human."
"What? How could she not be?"
"She does things that no human would do. I've tested her many times."
He gave a look, hinting to continue.
"Well the first one; the only time I've told her my name, was through mind link, yet some how she knows it."
"She could've heard it in school, dear." My mother added in.
"Doubt it. She responded right after. Then today, we raced. She was so fast. Faster than any human I've seen. She could almost catch up to me."
"That is strange... We are much faster than humans. Are you sure you weren't taking it easy on her?"
"Definitely not. If anything, I was hard on her. Then, when she saw me in my wolf form...she knew who I was."
My parents froze. They looked at each other for a moment, reading each other's thoughts. Then, turned back to me.
"Then, she can't be human. She has to be one of us. She's hiding it."
I don't think she would hide it, she had nothing to hide from me. What if she was one of us? That means she is my mate, for sure. I just needed to find out.
*Em POV*
"Hey, dear. Where have you been?" My mom asked when she's notices me walk into the kitchen.
"Nowhere, I just kinda wanted to be alone for a bit. Why are you home so soon?"
"I needed to stop by and grab something. Ill be leaving in a few. You weren't with that boy, were you?"
By boy, you mean monster? Then, yeah.
"No, mother. Just not feeling too well, just wanted to be alone." I answer, grabbing a back of chips from the cabinet, and heading back to my room. Thankfully she didn't question anymore.
This would be so much easier if I had friends. I could have someone to vent to, or someone to distract me, comfort me.
You do.
