Problem Solved?

Shadow yelped, surprised at how painful the bite was. He blinked, eyes training on the monster. Now in the moonlight he noticed that wasn't a normal thing. Black fur blended well in the background, only thing popping out was shinning yellow eyes. Its gaze held Shadow's, blood dripping down from its chin. This was bad. That was really bad. He didn't realize that he was this far deep in the forest. He didn't realize that the damned thing was this open.

"Werewolf," Shadow whispered, eyes going to Sonic.

Sonic seemed frozen in the spot. The look he gave made it seem he was familiar with this type of thing. Whatever, he can ask later when they were both in a safe spot. First he needed to make sure that this monster was not going to drive him deeper into this part. He has been here before and he knew how dangerous it could get. Once he had gone here just to let out some steam. Boy that was mistake. Shadow had gotten home and had slept for two days.

"Shadow! Are you okay?" Sonic yelled, werewolf's gaze now trained on Sonic instead.

"Sonic you idiot you need to get out of here now!" Shadow hissed.

The monster returned his gaze to Shadow. Weirdly the beast's eyes weren't as harsh as before.

"Heck no!" Sonic shouted. "I can help. I'm staying here."

You are one stupid hedgehog. Shadow thought.

A snarl and a low howl made Shadow look up. Although the werewolf had bitten his arm, it seemed to have no want to attack again. With a huff, it turned its back, thudding away. Shadow simply stared off at it. That usually doesn't happen.

"What the heck was that?!" Sonic yelled, arms waving wildly to where the monster had left.

"I don't think you wanna know," Shadow murmured, before saying much louder: "We need to leave now."

"Why? We haven't even reached the spot yet! It's fine I always take this way. That's just never happened before." Sonics ears shifted backwards, showing sadness without (or maybe actually) meaning to.

Shadow frowned. He was looking at Sonic and he already knew that there was no way he was leaving quite yet. Wait. How long have they been walking? He quickly turned around, astonished to see the skyscrapers slightly over the treetops. They weren't that far from the city. And he knew for a fact that Sonic and him had gone farther than this. Then why was there an opening so close? He should have a talk with the commander, but he already had an idea that he wouldn't care. Not with all the murders across town.

"How's your arm? I know you heal fast..." Sonic trailed off.

Shadow looked down on it, blood smeared everywhere. It wasn't a pretty sight, but the holes were already almost gone and the pain wasn't bad. So he figured he must be in good shape.

"Not bad. Almost healed."

"Well in that case, I'm gonna go 'head, with or without you," Sonic stuck his tongue out and walking deeper.

Goddammit. He wasn't gonna leave him and he didn't want him falling in an opening. He jogged to catch up to him, now at a calm pace.

"You still didn't answer me." Sonic said after a moment of silence. "What was that thing? I've seen some crazy things in my life. I can handle the info."

"I was hoping you would let that go." Shadow sighed.

"We have aaaalll day~" Sonic swung on his arms on his head, lazily turning around Shadow.

Just tell him. He could possibly know more and maybe he could help more?

Before Shadow knew it, he blurted out:

     "Itwasawerewolf. Fairly tale book stuff."

"Oh? So there more than Gaia's pawns?" Sonic said, rather blandly slight staring off into the distance.

"You are surprisingly taking th-" Shadow stopped suddenly, "Wait-Gaia-what-pawns-who?"

"That doesn't matter now! That was yeaaars ago! Hehe." Sonic sheepishly waved it off. "Anyway what else ya hidin'?"

"Now why would I tell you?" Shadow shrugged the conversation off, walking to where they were suppose to go in the first place.

"Now I have some dark secrets I hide," Sonic said with a serious undertone to his voice. "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours...?"

Sonic proceeded to nudge the other in the arm multiple times raising his brows. Shadow looked as if he had wanted to back hand the other to another plane of existence. But on the other hand, maybe opening up to him seriously wouldn't be bad. It's been awhile, and the other could be useful. Lately Shadow found himself seeking out the other's presence, finding it rather calming to have someone around to just be around. On the other hand he might just be getting a fever to make him this delusional.

     "You know what Sonic?"

The amusement in his voice made Sonic snap his head to look at ruby eyes. He was choosing(he was failing) to ignore the way his stomach had butterflies from the way his name sounded. Very very rare it was to see playfulness in those eyes.

"To be blunt and as fast as possible...." Shadow drawled out. "My brother was forced to harbor a very evil and powerful demon inside his head by the very workforce we work with. And it was none other than Asterius! Who controls a whole army of demons in a tear or our universe he created. And we found out he is losing control slowly of his realm and apparently Mephilies wants to be its new king. But don't worry he's on our side because my brothers kindness is apparently effective in changing everyone's hea-!"

"OOOOOKAAAY! I'VE-WHAT?? I'VE NEVER-! YOU BETTER EXPLAIN WAY MORE THAN YOU JUST SAID BECAUSE HOW THE HECK-?"

Shadow sat back as he watched Sonic slowly descend into madness.

There's more to this world than I think you know, Sonic.
