Patrick Stump POV:

"She has been with us for 16 months now. It's so sad to see young children and teenagers with cancer especially terminal cancer like Hannah 'ere" The female nurse informed us as Pete and I walked through the brightly coloured, gloomy hospital in search of one of our biggest fan to surprise. "Unfortunately, she has been going down hill rather rapidly lately but she is still able to communicate and looking at 'er, she seems fine!" The lovely woman warned. By the way the nurse acted when she first greeted us, we guessed she was also a fan. Although we love and care for all our fans, we were here for Hannah as it was her 15th birthday and it has almost always been her biggest wish to meet us so here we are! Arriving on the children's ward, there was many different sights - mostly disheartening - we were both lead through to a side room which had balloons and banners inside and out. Stepping through the heavy, white door, a little girl's face lit up the saddening atmosphere like a bright light in a dark room.

"Hey darlin'" I spoke to the teenager who was sat up with her legs crossed in the middle of her hospital bed. The blond-haired girl had a canula to help her breathing as well as being hooked up to a beeping machine through her small hand; other than that, she looked perfectly healthy. Dressed in a pair of pale blue, baggy jeans and a FOB tee, tears were in her wide green eyes.

"Hi Hannah" Pete spoke from my side and leaned in to hug her which she gracefully accepted before myself hugged the little star. "so hunni, how ya feeling?"

"Better now" She beamed at us.

"From a young age she has always listened to your band" A woman who looked like Hannah spoke, guessing it was her mother, "haven't you? Thank you so much for coming out. It truly means so much." As her mum started to cry, an elderly woman comforted her.

"woah, you must be our biggest fan?" Pete asked, pulling up some chairs from himself and I to sit on next to Hannah. She nodded enthusiastically.

"We have something for you. Something special" Passing her a large pink bag, she ripped it open, curious what she would find. Inside, Pete and I packed a teddy wearing a FOB top, a signed poster, a FOB tee, a signed copy of our new album as well as a mixed CD full of our favourite FOB songs including two exclusive tracks which we have never released. Crying, she stretched her small arms out for a hug and in unison, Pete and i accepted them. Throughout the visit, my eyes welled up with tears but I wouldn't allow them to fall, we had to be strong for her, after all, she told us we were her heroes and also her favourite Fall Out Boy members. Secretly, I was probably her ultimate favourite, obviously she couldn't say that in front of Pete as he would become jealous - joking!

We wanted to stay all day but we didn't want to abuse our welcome so after a few hours we left. Hannah was such a strong and brave girl and hopefully she enjoys the rest of the small life she has left. She did not deverse to go through this, nobody does! Once outside the building, I gave Pete a hug as he cried like me.

Life can be so unfair.
