The boy shoots an orange star-bolt at Brian, pushing him over, knocking over the machines. He looks at me, and at the window, separating my father and I. He quickly rips out the tubes and needles, just as the security guards enter.
With his palm up, a glittery, purple swords rises from his palm, and his slashes the guard on the left.
Confused, the guard searches around to look for the invisible "enemy". Mer quickly swipes the sword at his stomach, and blood gushes out. The guard falls to the ground.
In shock, I stare at Mer, who shakes, staring at the blood on his hands. The sword disappears.
"I...I..." His voice shakes as he speaks.
"I-It's okay, Mer." I struggle to hug him, but he joins my hug and cries into my shoulder.
"I had to protect you." He mutters under his cry.
"I know, I know."
Over Mer's shoulder, dad and Gina looks down at the bodies, back at me, like I'm nuts. To them, I look like I'm hugging the air. All they saw was the panic of the guard,a sudden slash on his stomach, blood seeping out, and the guard falling to the ground.
"I-I... Have to get you out of here, miss." Mer finally speaks up.
"What? How?" I ask.
"I have to fly you out of the hospital. You and you're family, I mean." He replies, shuddering.
"Oh-okay. Calm down, calm down. I guess. Let's hurry!" I say, gripping tightly to his upper arm. He nods, standing firmly. Closing his eyes, the door slams.
"Let us in!" A deep, hoarse voice screams. Security.
Mer looks at me panicked, but I nod to assure him. He nods, closing his eyes again. My feet lift of the cold, bloody, tiled-floor. Lifting higher info the air, Mer pushes forward, gripping tighter to my arm. The door slams open, knocking 8 guards on the floor. Mer puts me on the floor, and draws out the sword. With one stroke, their throats are sliced, blood draining. They gurgle and choke, blood spilling from their throats and mouths, and fall to the floor.
With out hesitation, he grabs my arm again and we launch into the observation room.
Gina and dad look paralyzed when I fly in. To them, they see a floating girls with sprayed blood on my face and body, and a layer of it on my feet.
"Gina! Daddy! Come on!" Mer quickly snatched them, causing Gina to scream.
"What... What?!? Just... What?!?" Dad yells.
"We have to go." They hesitate, and nod. We zoom into the main hall, dodging people, lights, walls, boxes, and opening doors. On the way, we grab Tracy. Behind us, I hear screaming and pushing. Glancing behind me, guards and doctors chase us.
"Get that god damn girl! GET HER!"
Dr. Fitz screams, in front of the mob.
We have to hurry.
Mer is panicked and scared, as are the others.
We have to keep pushing.
