Mer releases his grip of my forearm and quickly wraps his arm around my torso.

"WHAT IS GOING ON?!?" Tracy screams, her braided hair whipping in the air.

"Shut up!" That's all I could think of to say. And she did.

Mer whips us down many flights of stairs, until we reached the first level. We soar to the left, and see the large auto-open doors, light streaming from the glass panes.

The doors slide open, people jumping out of our way. We make it through, and the setting sun soaks into my skin. It almost burns, and it reminds me of the spotlight in the room. The doctors crowding around me. The feeling of fear and agony. I push the thoughts aside.

I laugh, letting the breeze unknot my bun.

Tracy, Gina, and dad aren't smiling. Tracy is shrieking and suffocating my arm, Gina is talking Spanish that I can't even follow, and dad is growing paler and limp, jaw wide open and mumbling.

"Melanie! I am losing my hold of you and your step-mother!" Mer yells.

"You have to drop us off somewhere!" I reply.

"DROP US OFF?!? WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING TO?!?" Gina bellows.

"Not now, Gina!" I respond. Suddenly, I hear a hard pounding. I know it's not my head throbbing, but I can't tell where it's coming from. I crane my neck around.

"Oh... No." Helicopter. The blades spin in a blur, causing so much pressure in my head. Ow...

"Melanie Graspe. Stop and return to ground, or we will go in higher consequences." A woman's voice echoes from the helicopter.

"What on the Earth is that?" Mer asks, grunting to pull me up.

"Helicopter! They aren't good! We have to lose them!" I shout, and Mer pushes farther, making is go faster.

We whiz past local businesses, cafés, large businesses, monstrous towers, and hundreds of tourist and local populist. Everyone stares, but I obviously don't care.

"I... I can't hold on much... Longer!" Mer moans, and I see his grasp slipping from my waist.

"We have to drop them off," I reply.

"DROP US OFF?!? HAHA, VERY FUNNY!" Dad laughs, sweating.

I laugh nervously. Searching around, I find a perfect place to release them.

"Mer, drop them off over there! It's Big Harry's Happy Bumpy-Boppy Jump House!" I almost laugh at that.

He nods.

"Mrs. & Mr. Graspe, please hold in tight. Melanie, please toss me Tracy." Mer says, I have to repeat it to them, because as you know, they don't understand.

"Melanie. What are you doing..?" Tracy asks, shuddering. I quickly move my hand to her arm, and begin to swing her.

"Melanie... Don't even think about it." I build up momentum.

"MELANIE! YOU ARE CRAZY!" She screams. I draw back my arm one more time.

"I know."

As with that, I throw her, as she screams and flails, my dad following. I suddenly feel Mer's grip release, and I feel my body plunge down. Everything is blurry, my ears pop, my head is searing with pain. I feel my head rush through thoughts, like "This is it." Or "Help me! I can't breathe!" And I actually couldn't. I watch the skyscrapers zoom past as I scream. I see my tears fly away.

It's over. Close your eyes, Melanie. I thought. I squint them shut, remembering Mer's betrayal, letting me drop. But, instead of feeling the split second pain that leads to death, I feel everything pause. I open one eye, to double check to see if I'm dead. But, I'm not. I look up to see Mer's glowing grin. I quickly vomit, and he pulls me close to his side. I grip to him tight, petrified of looking down.

"W-Where... Are we (gulp) going, n-now...?" I say, shivering and feeling sick.

Mer points straight up.

"Oh come on M-" And before I could finish my sentence, Mer rockets up, towards my fear - space.
