Phoenix (Nightwing X OC) #3

Chapter 1

I sat on Dick and I's bed mending the ripped spandex suit That had ripped in my last fight. Justice was in a doorway jumper bouncing to his hearts content. He was giving me a gummy smile, yet his two bottom teeth were coming in.

"Your a happy baby aren't you." I cooed at him.

He laughed. I stuck the needle into the suit and got up. I passed by Justice and he turned around bouncing. I grabbed the Phoenix stencil and red paint. I passed Justice again and he laughed again. I put the paint down and crouched so I could be next to him.

"Are you having fun?" I asked him.

He laughed again. A knock came at the door and Jason poked his head in.

"Hey you busy?" He asked.

"Ya I'm working fixing my suit." Jamie ran past him and over to me and jumped into my lap.

"Mama, are you gonna come watch my gymnastic class?" She asked.

"Sure sweetie." I said as I got up. I picked her up.

"Let me get ready and then we'll go." I said as I put her down.

I went over and got my necklace and put it on and then I got dressed. I got Justice and put my shoes on and picked Jamie up.

"Let's go." Jason said.

"You're coming?"  I asked.

"Ya, Jamie asked me to come." He said.

"She loves her uncles doesn't she?" I said.

"She definitely does. I've actually put down the title of vigilante and I've been working with Bruce again." Jason said.

"Good for you." I said.

"And soon you'll join us back on the field." He said.

"I already have," I reminded him.

"I hope Phoenix does a better job than Zodiac and Nightingale." I said.

"Hey we've all made mistakes." Jason said.

"We definitely do." I sighed.

I sat outside the room and watched Jamie's class. It was adorable, I hoped she wouldn't fight crime like the rest of her family. But I had a sinking feeling she would.

After the class Jamie ran out and over to Jason and I. Jason picked her up.

"Can we go watch Daddy's class?" Jamie asked.

"Sure let's go." Jason said.

We went over to the much more advanced class and watched Dick coach his class.

When he was done he came over to us and took Jamie from Jason.

"How was your class, sweetie?" Dick asked as he lifted Jamie up.

"Fun!" Jamie exclaimed.

Jason got a message on his phone.

"They need us at the tower. You in Anastasia?" Jason asked.

"No I'll take Jamie and Justice home." I said as I took Jamie.

"See you later." Dick kissed my cheek.

"Be safe." I said.

"We will, we always are." Dick said.

He and Jason then ran off. I went back to the car and went home.

Alfred was the only one home when we arrived.

I took Jamie and Justice up to my room and put Justice back in the bouncer and let Jamie play with her toys and I finished repairing my suit.

Jamie came over and played with my hair.

"Why is your hair a different color" she asked."And why do you look different, Mommy?" She asked.

"Because I wanted a new look. What do you think of it?" I asked Jamie.

"Pretty." She smiled.

I kissed her head and put my hair up in a bun. I put a mask on to see the full look of Phoenix.

"Come on." I said as I picked my children up.

Alfred was In The Batcave.

"Miss Maria where are you going?" He asked.

"Out? Any team need back up?" I asked.

"No ma'am. I could- wait! Tim and Damien just requested back up. They were apprehending in a bank robbery." Alfred said.

"I'll take it."

I gave him Justice and I ran over to the motorcycle.

I arrived at the bank and stashed my bike in the alley. I put it in camouflage on it and leaned it up against the wall. I climbed the fire escape to the skylight. It felt so weird to not have a bow in my hand and a quiver and cape over my shoulder. But Phoenix wouldn't use a bow, it was too much of a similarity to Zodiac.

I peered into the skylight and saw Damien and Tim were tied to a pillar they were arguing. I threw down a few homemade smoke bombs and then jumped through the skylight. I made the landing And took the thieves out with in a few minutes. I went over and gave Tim a knife to free him and Damien. One of the bad guys attacked me from behind but I flipped him. His buddies came at me for round two.

"Come on gentlemen. You really want more? I'm flattered but I'm taken." I said as I fought them.

When I had them tied up. Tim, Damien and I got out of there.

"What the hell happened?" I yelled once we got back to the Batcave.

"They ambushed us." Damien said.

"We've don't thousands of ambush scenario training you should have been able to take them. I'm really disappointed in you two. Bruce isn't going to be happy." I yelled.

"We know, we both messed up big time." Tim said.

"You're lucky it wasn't a more serious situation." I said. Justice started crying so I took him from Alfred.

"Come on Jamie." I said.

We went upstairs and I took care of my kids. I went to the living room and put the tv on for my kids.

Dick and Jason came in laughing.

"Hey blondie." Jason teased.

"How are you?" Dick asked.

"Good, I had to rescue Tim and Damien from amateur bank robbers." I said.

"Your kidding?" Dick asked as he sat down on the couch with me.

"No, they were tied up and everything." Dick and Jason laughed.

"That was completely planned. We planned it for you. It was a scenario, you did a great job." Dick said.

"Thank you." I said.

"I thought you were Black Canary for a moment. With the black suit and blonde hair." Jason said.

"Dinah doesn't wear a mask or pants." I said.

"And she doesn't had a red phoenix on her uniform." Dick said.

"True." Jason said.
