PERSEPHONE POV
Bzzzt... bzzzt... bzzz- Ugh... is today seriously the meeting?
I tossed and turned in my blankets a bit before getting up, going over and checking my calendar.
Yep... that's today, November 26th...
I got up and headed to the bathroom, brushing my teeth, fixing up my fluff and readjusting my glasses. 'Had to try and at least look somewhat formal, especially for the "importance" of this one, as Flippy claimed.
I laid around and watched T.V. for awhile, checked my watch and was on my way.
I opened the door to well, I guess you could call it a zoo, heheh. I crack myself up, but yeah, Toons were scrambled about, barking, quacking, neighing. I had a feeling Flippy would start to speak up since he always has to quiet them down before a session.
"Good morning everyone-- quiet!" The room died down a bit from Flippys attempt but not much.
"QUUUIIEEEETTTT!!" Some of the cats even covered their ears for this one, including myself.
Flippy sat up in his chair at the end of the long table, which was strewn with papers, ice cream and jellybeans the like.
"I'm sure most of you know what we're here for." He started, seriousness clouding his usual perky attitude.
"Of course we do!" A yellow duck quacked out, Coach Zucchini known by most for his boldness.
"Quiet down Coach, everyone will get their turn." Flippy remarked in return and continued his introduction.
"So yes.. it's been a few months since the cogs first started appearing. Ever since then they seem quite more organized then us and able to hide things right under our noses. With that, I propose a resistance."
Some look confused, others intrigued but everyone was quiet for the most part.
"--A group of specialized toons in which would help keep the safety of Toontown by discovering the secrets of these cogs and going on missions to sabotage and investigate."
"And what about Surlee's disappearance!" A blue dog called out, Sir Furball. I didn't mind him too much compared to Coach but still wasn't that close.
"Yes, that too." Flippy replied.
"But, I need to appoint a head of the resistance, any volunteers?" Flippy looked about.
The quiet room managed to get even quieter, no one seemed to want to handle such a huge task. I gave one final look and raised my hand slowly, sighing to myself.
"I'll do it.." I sighed, if it was for the betterment of Toontown, I was willing.
"Great! Persephone, I formally appoint you leader of the Toon Resistance!" An applause erupted from the table as I got a pat on the back of reassurance from the couple toons beside me.
It was all so sudden but Flippy was right, something had to be done.
Flippy beckoned me over to his seat I went over as instructed, he shook my hand firmly and handed me a badge, it was a white clenched fist with a green background, I was quite fond of it actually.
The applause roared even louder and soon died down as everyone started to wrap up and grab their things.
"And Persephone?" Flippy looked at me.
"Your recruiting starts tomorrow."
I nodded in return, not knowing much to say to that as this entire meeting was already overwhelming. I headed back to my estate, sighing as I closed the door.
"Leader of the Toon Resistance.. who would've thought.." I rubbed my eyes as I plopped onto my bed, not being able to get much sleep as the moon rose.
