Chapter 2. Sleepy Accidents

I leaned down and untied his shoe but when I stood up I was dangerously close to Jace's body and we were making intense eye contact. His eyes flickered down to my lips and my body nearly went into overdrive!

I shocked myself when I started leaning in but quickly stepped back placing my foot on a branch behind me.

"Wh-What are you doing? I don't even know you!" I said ashtonished.

"Honestly I have no clue," He said breathlessly,"I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was thinking...." I have no clue why he was so out of breath I mean its not like anything happened! Just then I realized he was staring at my welts on my arm! He can't be noticing those!!!

His eye brows forowed, "What are those?" He asked softly, worry and curiosity lacing through his voice.

"Nothing I-uh, I must've hit it while climbing up here.... Its nothing." I said trying my hardest to shrug it off as nothing and hoping he couldn't see through my lie.

"Hmm.... yeah ok. sure...," He said suspiciously, "Well, where do you live? I could drive you home or walk depending on how far I guess."

"No!" I said quickly then catching myself then saying, "I mean I just really don't wanna go home I'm fine out here, Really. I am." I said attempting to sound reassuring.

"I hope you know your a bad liar. I hate it when people lie," Jace says sharply, "But I can tell you don't want to talk about it now so I'll let it slide....for now. Now, since you can't go home you can stay at my house my Mom is out of town so I have the place all to myself." He suggested.

"Umm I don't know if I should...." I said nervously. I mean This is the first time in years that I've talked to a guy, and now all the sudden I'm gonna be staying the night at one's house!!! This is Shayla in complete overdrive!!

"I insist. I'm not allowing a girl like you to sleep in a tree. Why you were asleep in a tree in the first place is beyound me." He said while laughing with a kind smile. I could get used to this.

"Fine... But only because my back hurts from falling asleep there earlier." I laughed. We climbed down and when we reached the bottom I was grateful I wasn't alone. For the first time I actually have someone there for me! I smiled to myself.

"Well I guess just follow me then," He stated.

"Yeah. I guess." I said with a playful tone as I nudged his shoulder. He laughed and I smiled, I really like his laugh.

We walked up to this fence door and he opened it saying "And here we are!" We walked through the small backyard and through the backdoor into his house.

"Nice place." I stated while wondering around. Then I realized I should probably stop because its kinda rude.

"Yeah, thanks. Here follow me," He responded leading me down a hallway. "There's the bathroom and," He grabbed the knob of the door next to the bathroom while winking at me, " Your suite my lady." We both laughed as he lead me into the room.

"Why thank you sir!" I exclaimed before we both broke out in a fit of laughter. Some how we both ended up collapsing on the bed while we were laughing, so when we finally calmed down I became over-whelmingly aware of how close we were laying.

"So.... umm where are you sleeping?" I asked nervously. I'm not exactly sure why I was so nervous but I was.

"Well, my room is right accross the hall so if you need anything just knock." He sighed sitting up. I sat up and gave him a nod because I didn't fully trust my voice. he stood up and looked down at me, "Good night Shayla." He said not breaking eye contact as he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my forehead.
