Ch.7 First Day of School

Recap:

Diana, confused, turns and sees Jace. "Son, now I know she looks hot but close your mouth you're going to catch flies." she laughs nudging her son. I found myself just smiling they look so happy. I wish I could have had that with my dad..... No. Shayla stop it. You are NOT about to get sad and emotional about this. This is a good day you aren't going to have to deal with that a**hole ever again. I plaster a smile on my face and change back into my shirt. We go to the register pay and leave the mall. All I keep thinking is that I don't deserve them... I don't deserve him....

Shayla's P.O.V.

I sit up and hit the off button on my new alarm clock. Well, this is it. Today is here. School is back. Ugh. Most kids actually look forward to school starting because it meant they get to see their friends. Me? Hells-to-the-no. For me school was a reminder that everyone in and outside my house hated me. At school I constantly feel like kids are spitting on me. Jace says it will be different this year... I don't know though... I think it might get worse. I mean a guy like Jace dating a girl like ME? Not possible. I can hear them now. He just pities you. He doesn't care about you. As you can tell this is not gonna be a fun day for me.

I get up, turn on the lights, and open the closet. I pull out a black T-shirt, black and white high-waisted beach shorts, a white cardigan, and out of my dresser, thigh high socks. I also decide to wear one of the few necklaces I got yesterday.

I walk out of the room to find Jace waiting for me leaning against his door frame. He looks me up and down and smiles. "Hey Babe." he says in his sleepy voice. His hair is all messy and cute.

"Hey there, Handsome." I say. I just can't help myself he looks so damn hot right now. I have to kiss him a little at least. I wrap my hands around his neck and gave him a slow and long kiss. Just to tease him I just stopped and walked away. As I glanced back I saw Jace just standing there as if he was thinking "what the f*ck just happened?!" I giggled as he started to chase me. I run into the living room which is when he catches me and starts to tickle me we fall over on to the couch. I'm laughing and squealing.

"J-Jace! St-Stop it!" I squeal he's laughing at me as he leans over me. He looks up and moves quickly I sit up and see Diana standing there with her eyebrows raised.

"Would one of you like to explain or shall I say what I think is going on here?" She asks. Jace and I not sure what to say kinda just stare at her as if she were about to break. It going eerie quiet for about a minute, I actually think I heard crickets.

"You guys think your real sneaky."she laughs. "You're trying to wake me up with out yelling at me presicely! You're both so sweet!" We chuckled nervously.

"Of corse mom I know you hate that." Jace smiled.

"Oh. And I almost forgot something," Diana taps her head as if to say 'Duh.' "You two are so dating." she said making both Jace and I extremely nervous. "Well you too keep your hands off of each other and get to school we will talk later." she said. I can't tell whether or not she's mad, disappointed, or nervous herself.

20 minutes later.....

We just got to school and I realized how popular Jace actually was. I mean I knew he was popular or rather assumed, but I didn't expect the 40 people that came up to us just to talk to Jace. With each person I felt small and invisible... Nothing new... Jace would try to introduce me to some people but they would act as if they needed to be somewhere really important and just walked off causing Jace to give me apologetic looks. I didn't want his pity.I didn't want the popularity either but I'm tired of being a ghost to everyone.
