Chapter 5. I Protect Whats Mine

When I finally recovered I looked over at her and smiled. She smirked back then said, "Well you look exhausted," she giggled,"and so am I lets just go to sleep."

"Whatever you want babe." I smiled back as we got comfortable and eventually feel asleep in eachothers arms.

Shayla's P.O.V.

The next day....

We are sitting on a picnic blanket in Jace's backyard looking up at the stars. I'm not sure how long we've been out here but I don't care it's perfect.

That is untill I get the sense Jace is going talk about something I don't wanna talk about...."So I don't upset you or anything but we need to talk about what happen yesterday morning...." He trails off and I can feel his eyes on me as I continue to stare at the sky.

"Do we have to?" I mumbled quietly.

He chuckled. "Yeah unfortunately we do, if I'm gonna protect you and get you out of that house that is."

I sighed,"Well I don't know what to tell you... I mean I told you everything so, if you mean where am I gonna live then I have absolutly no clue."

I glanced over at Jace who looked like he was trying to think to solve my unsolvable problem. I decide to cut his thoughts short, "I have no family or friends therefore no place to go and I'm not going into foster care."

He sighed, "I'll figure it out babe. I will talk to my mom and see what we can do because I will NOT letyou go back there." He growled.

"No! You can't tell anyone!!" I sat up quickly and stared at him. I was getting angry and fast. He can't tell people my secret! If he does that he will come after me just like he did to her!

"How else am I supposed to help you! C'mon baby think about it! My mom will be coming home tomorrow night and she will wonder what the hell is going on! And I'm not letting you go back there!!" He tried to reason with me.

"So you would rather tell someone so that I get out into foster care and possibly put into another town!! I don't think so!! If you do that I swear I will leave and never come back!!" I was in tears now I can't beleive this is happening! I should have never told him!

"My mom would never put you in foster care!! At most she would take you in and let you live here and get your father thrown in prison! Don't be afraid please I would never do anything to hurt you or make you leave me! I promise you baby, I protect whats mine." Did he say what I think he just said!! I can't beleive it! Am I actually HIS?At this I was starting to calm down but still it was so upsetting...

"But we are together I don't think she'd let me live here if we're together..." I gasped covering my mouth when I realized what I just said. I'm so stupid! We're probably not even together yet! We haven't talked about it at all!!

"I know baby. We'll figure it out, I promise." Jace sighed. "Anyways we need to figure out what to do about school next week..." he trailed off searching for my reaction.

"Oh crap! I completely forgot!! What am I gonna do?!" I said frantically.

He chuckled. "Relax babe, I got stuff you can use. You will stay here untill we figure it all out."

"Okay. But you can't hang out with me at school." I said.

"What? Why not?" He questioned.

"Well I wouldn't want to ruin your reputation." I answered in a 'duh' tone.

"If anything you will boost my reputation for dating the hottest girl in school but I don't care what those losers think or say ok? You gotta stop doing that to yourself because it's not true and it's not right." He said giving me a stern look. I sighed as he pulled me closer saying, "On that first day, We are going to walking to that school side by side holding hands and once I know people are looking just to make sure they know your mine I'm going to pull you in for a kiss," he said kissing her on the lips," like that. Or maybe like this," I smiled as we started making out slowly.
