"Breaking news- A gang run-in has just occurred on the cliffs of Bailey Beach. The intention is thought to be an attempted assassination of a gang member. Both suspects have fled the scene. There is only one injured but in critical condition. We will report back with more information soon. This is Camilla Rodgers, Channel 4 News, June 19, 2019."

Present Day, March 30, 2018

You know when you have a project due and it's the day before the due date, but you haven't started yet? Then it's 10:30 and the screen is still blank. Its ok in the end though because you speed typed and crammed everything into a grand master piece of junk in an hour. Yea, that's what today felt like.

Let's not get too far ahead though. I wouldn't want to leave you in the dust all confused. We'll go all the way back to when I woke up this morning and some introductions shall we?

Madeline Lambert, how you doing? I'm currently 15 years old and going through and epidemic but that's for another time. Let's jump right into the beginning of my fascinating morning. Note the sarcasm.

My morning started just like any other during my school days, my disturbingly loud and irritating alarm clock interrupting my peaceful sleep. In addition to the torture, the last 3 weeks, I've had to crawl through a treacherous walk across my room that I like to call the collapsing canyon.

My parents have been looking for a new house for 3 years. I think it's safe to say that it hasn't been going well. But finally, as if my Brother and I's wish had been granted magically, we finally found a house. Being as relieved as I was, I didn't ask where the house was. good job Madeline. Excitement took over and I had all my things packed up and taped in boxes in 5 days. All the boxes in my room piled up so high that it feels they're going to fall. Hence the collapsing canyon.

A little information on my brother. His name is Calum for starters. He's a year older than me but has the mental age of a 9-year-old. At the moment he is going through a phase of the-music-is-loud-enough-when-I-can't-hear-you. It's particularly annoying at night. Like hello a girl is trying to catch some sleep over here. If there's one thing that he does that doesn't bother me is bring his friends over. If you know what I mean. ;)

So anyways back to what I was doing. Putting on my clothes and my daily routine in the bathroom, I made my way into my kitchen for breakfast. Imagine my confusion when no one was in there. Usually a hell raise is going on in here because my family has no idea how to manage anything. 

Suddenly my front door opened causing me to turn around in distraught. Why is there a bunch of grown men walking towards me in my house? Since being irrational and unable to not jump to conclusions, my only thought was to run to my back door. Running as fast as I could to the front of my house I saw multiple moving trucks on the street with even more men. Still skeptical, I walked towards the trucks to thankfully see my parents.

"What's going on and who are these people?", I huffed in frustration. My mother full of energy per usual spun around while grabbing my shoulders all in one motion. Yelling in a tone just a bit too loud for just waking up 15 minutes ago, "It's moving day Madds!"

It is so not the time for this. Bed. Bed is where I should be right now, but no. School is a thing and for some reason I along with every other miserable kid have to go every single day. I'm really starting to think that I should start a petition to start school at like 10 or 11. Anything other than 8:30. Better yet why don't we aim higher. We'll change the entire system. Change rules and standards. Now that's an idea.
