Today is the day, I thought to myself. Yesterday, Mr. Sijay announced that our class would be having a relay with Mrs. Sijay's class. The bell was about to ring, announcing to us that it was now time to go to 6th period. I have been dreading today all day, I thought again. Running isn't my thing. Athletic stuff isn't my thing. I mean, it would be if some creature was chasing me, like a giant red-gummy bear with it's arms and head cut off. Now that would be insane.
I nervously tapped my sparkly-pink pencil against my desk, listening to the clock tick and watching one of its arrows rotate around the middle. 1 more minute. I started packing up my stuff, getting even more nervous by the second. When I was finally packed up, I saw that there was 5 more seconds left.
Here we go, time to embarass myself.
5.
What if I fall and scrape my knee?
4.
What if I fall and everyone laughs at me?
3.
Oh, god. I don't want to repeat last months. Matthew laughed at me the whole day!
2.
1 more second until I die.
1.
Here we go.
The bell finally rang, and I starting breaking down piece by piece inside. I always humiliate myself in this stuff, and in PE, I was known as Messing up Malycia. NOTHING, and let me tell you, NOTHING, is worse then having a rude name attatched to your original name and having everyone call you by that.
I walked as slow as a turtle to the locker room to get dressed up for PE. Everyone was passing by me so quickly, I felt like everyone was running basically. I kept reminding myself that I would get pizza, but that wouldn't even cheer me up. It was weird, we finally get a reward for this heck-hole, yet I still don't feel the least bit better. It actually made me weep even more, really, since we had to try harder. Talk about horror. Who even likes this stuff? I mean, what if someone collapses during it? Would they still continue? They better not, or else they'd be sued in a second.
Still walking in sadness, I walked straight into a door as it opened. Great, add more humiliation and hate towards humanity and to my already dying soul.
I look up to see someone walk out of the door, looking straight at me. I rub my eyes, making sure this wasn't my eyes tricking me. Nope, my eyes weren't deceiving me. I could seriously die at this moment.
"Watch where you're going." he said. I looked away from him and felt a few tears build up in my eyes, but no way was I going to release them. I can't show how weak I am. Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms pick me up and hug me.
"Why don't you be nice for once, Matthew? Couldn't you of watched where you were going, too?" I heard Oscar say. I looked up at him and saw him looking angry as ever. I looked back towards Matthew and saw him glaring at Oscar, then looking at him with sorrow in his eyes. He sighed and walked off, not saying a word.
"Hell yes! I scared that little weenie off!" Oscar cheered, still holding me. I cracked a smile and giggled.
"I-I made you smile? .. and GIGGLE?! THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! YOU NEVER DO THAT!" he screams out loud. I try to sustain a serious face and cover his mouth, but I end up smiling again. What a dork.
