(A/N) Hi there! This is my new fanfiction based on a Korean drama called "Playful Kiss." It features famous viner, Matthew Espinosa. The first few chapters may be a bit boring, but I promise to you I will try to make it better throughout the whole story. The names of the main character and her father won't be revealed until I'm guessing the first or second chapter. So will how people look. I hope you enjoy and add my story to your library in the near future, or now .. if you like it. Thank you for taking a look(:

"Here we are!" My father exclaims. I awake from my nap in the car and looked outside the window.

"Isn't it pretty?" he asks. I nod my head and look down at my hands.

"Hey, I know, I miss the old house, too. But, we had to leave. That house had lots of memories, and I knew that if I .. I mean we, I knew that if we didn't leave, we'd keep mourning her death. We don't want to live like that, do we?" You're probably thinking, who died? And let me tell you this, my mother and grandmother.

"Yeah, I guess." I finally look up to see my father looking at me with a disappointed face. "I'm sorry for acting this way right now, Daddy. I agree that we were mourning her death and we had to leave, it's just that we had other memories there that I didn't want to let go. That was my childhood home, and it's never easy leaving all that behind." He nods his head and claps his hands once.

"Well, let's get going and unload the van. Today's going to be a long day." Tell me about it. Two weak people having to carry billions of boxes full of heavy items. Yeah, you'd expect my father to be strong and bold. But, he's actually just like me. Weak, defenseless, awkward.

I unbuckle my seat belt and head out the car door. I hear a low sigh from my father as we both look at the boxes.

"Ew."

----------

It's been past 4 hours without a break and we finally unloaded the car. A few objects inside the box broke, but good thing it wasn't anything special. Just a few lamps, oh well. But now here's the fun part. UNPACKING! Unpacking was my favorite because I like to redecorate. Taking a box from beside me, I try to put it on the kitchen counter with all my might with my tired arms.

"Let me help you." My father says. We finally put the box onto the counter. I look at my father, ready to thank him, but I see he looks exhausted. He's an old man, he shouldn't have to go through with all this work.

"Daddy, if you're tired, you can go to sleep. Your bed is already set up, so you can take a nap if you'd like." I insisted.

"Not at all, princess. I have to admit I'm a little tired, but hard work pays off." He quickly grabs an item out of the box to put somewhere before I could argue. "Okay."

I'm a little shocked to see what he pulls out of the box.

"Look at this." He then showed me a plaque from 1997. It had my hand prints from when I was a baby along with my mother's. Great job, Dad. I thought we were suppose to stop mourning Mommy's death. He takes the plaque and places it on a wall in the living room where everyone can see it. He looks back and smiles widely at me.

"I love it there, Dad."

"I do, too." We smile at eachother and continue unpacking. Plants, paintings, lamps, furniture come and go with all the other items for the past few hours. I check the time on my phone and see that it's 5:32 PM. We arrived here at 10:00 AM. 7 hours of non-stop work and the only thing going through my head is break time. Knowning the fact that I can't even do 7 hours of work, I can never handle a job.

"Hey, can we take a break? We've been working for 7 hours straight. I can't do this for so long." I drop down to the floor to sit down and whine. "Please please please please please."

"Alright. You can only take a break for an hour, then we'll get back to work. I'll cook us dinner and you can call up your friends." I give him a giant hug and run to the car to get my phone. I call up 3 close friends of mine, and in no time, they're here.

"Nice house, you got here, kiddo." Menaderellia says. Right behind her is Oscar and Janice. They seem speechless, I wonder. All they're doing is staring up at my house in awe.

"Thanks, little one." I say as I ruffle Menaderellia's blonde hair. She looks at me in disgust and fixes her hair. "You'll pay for that." She threatens as I giggle.

"My dad is letting me have 1 hour of a break since we've been working 7 hours straight. My dad is cooking dinner, so maybe you guys can stay and eat?" I ask.

"OF COURSE!" Oscar says first. Let me tell you about this guy, my friends. I met him in 1st grade when he accidentally kicked a soccerball to my face during school.

FLASHBACK

"I'm so sorry! I didn't mean it!" a boy ran up to me, looking ashamed.

"It's fine." I finally look up to see a ... funny looking boy. He had green eyes and dark brown hair. He had those round-rimmed black glasses on with his hair gelled down. He looked like a nerd.

"You look funny." I giggled and booped his nose. He looked away a bit sad, but looked back to laugh with me. He helped me up and reached for my hand.

"Hey, hey. Buddy, we just met." I say.

"I know, I just want to shake your hand. You know, this," he says as he grabs my hand and shakes it up and down. "That's what a hand shake is. Have you never learned what that was?" I look at him in disgust.

"I know what a handshake is, dummy. I'm not an alien." He giggles and boops my nose.

"What if you are an alien and is trying to become my best friend to kill me?" He questions. I look at him deviously and start chasing after him. "ALIEN! No! Don't!" He's running away and I swear it looks like he's about to cry. A new friend.

END OF FLASHBACK

Ever since that incident, apparently to him, he has fallen in love with me and he still hasn't stopped. I don't know why he clings on to me, though. I give him so many signals that I don't think we should be together.

"Okay." I respond. All 5 of us sit at the kitchen table waiting for dinner. My dad walks over and sits with us.

"Hey, kids. What are you talking about?" He wonders.

"Nothing, just asked if they'd like to stay and eat. They said yes, by the way." My dad smiles and nods with approval.

"I don't think you need to ask. I think we just assume now." He was right, I don't remember anything about my friends putting down a question to 'eating with us.' My father is a great cook, he works at his own restraunt. My friends love his food.

We chitchat for a few until we smell smoke.

"JESUS CHRIST!" My father screams as he looks to the kitchen to see it in flames. "I FORGOT TO CHECK UP ON IT!" We all run towards the kitchen and try to put down the fire, but with no success. Running out of the house as quickly as I can with my phone and friends and dad trailing behind me, we actually made an escape. I quickly dialed 911 and in no time they were here. I noticed my dad had the plaque of my mother and I's handprints in his hand. I take hold of his hand and smile at him reassuringly with my friends by my side as we watched the firemen try to hose down the fire.

"Our home..." I hear my father mumble.
