"Would you like to explain to me why the prince of Altea is still alive? Or are you going to run away like how you did with him?" The commander asks me.

"I-" Speaking didn't seem to be an option for me.

"You are no galra soldier, you are weak and soft. Guards! Send him away!"

My eyebrows raise. "What? No, no please!" I yell.

My general comes close to my face. "Did you know there was another reason we needed the prince of Altea dead? One of our spies said that the Alteans were working on some kind of new ware fare. They need 5 people to operate it and do you know who the only one they have right now is?"

I squeeze my eyes shut. "The prince."

He chuckles. "Look who finally got something right." He holds my chin, and guards wrap their arms around mine. "Too bad you're a waste of a good soldier." He looks up at the guards. "Take him to the abandoned prison."

"Yes sir, vrepit sa." I kick and scream for them to let me go, eventually my body gives out.

-

"Hello." I say to my two new team members.

"Prince." The balmeran bows. The human hits his head.

"He's one of us now so no official shit, okay?"

I put my hands up. "Understood."

The human sighs. "Well I'm Pidge and this is my buddy Hunk."

I smile. "Well, it's nice to meet you."

"Alright do you know how to do these kinds of missions?"

"For the most part yes."

"Good." Hunk starts, leaning on pidge's shoulder. "We could use someone up in the sky." He winks.

I smirk. "Well that's what I'm here for."

A week had gone by just like that. We worked well together. We were freeing more prisoners of the galra everyday and we were restoring families.

"Are you guys ready for today?" I ask, stretching.

"Oh um Lance, so once a week we go to abandoned prisons just to see if anyone is there."

"Oh, have you ever found anything?"

She looks at Hunk. "Well, one time we found galra war strategies so we check once a week to see if we can strike lucky again."

"Alright then," I look back at them. "get ready team."

-

Screaming, crying, screaming, crying. I went on like this for who knows how long.

My stomach growled, I can't remember the last time there was food in my stomach.

My mind always seemed to be wondering off, never being able to focus, I couldn't sleep, who knew what was out there?

Every once and a while, someone would come by. I don't know if they are real but, usually they would hit me or kick me, whatever pleased them. They did it yesterday, only this time I started to cough up blood, with me being so weak, I couldn't fight back.

Then I heard a noise. A lump forms in my throat and my breathing becomes uneven.

"Wh-" I start to cough. My voice is hoarse from not speaking for a while.

"I think I heard something coming from up there." A male voice said. "I'll go check it out, you guys check this floor."

"Rodger." To voices reply back.

I hear footsteps coming closer and closer. I knew it wasn't the galra but I was so I probably would be killed.

"Hello?" A voice calls out to me.

Then, there he is, a man with white hair and bright blue eyes looking down at me.

It was the prince of Altea.

-

I couldn't believe my eyes. Not that long ago this man had me in a choke hold trying to kill me.

"Why are you here?" I ask the soldier.

"Wh-" He starts to cough, and cough, and cough. Finally he seems to be able to talk. "Why do you think?" His voice was so raspy it hurt my ears. The glow that came from his eyes pierced my soul.

I stand there, going through multiple different scenarios before finally deciding what I should do. I pause and taking a deep breath, pulling out my gun and shooting the lock. I then walk in to the galras cell.

Then something weird happens. He scoots away from me. His hands were visibly shaking. "Don't hurt me please." He whispers. I couldn't help but pity the soldier in front of me, it made something in my heart shatter. He did something right and he was punished severely.

"Hey." I whisper to him, putting my hand out slowly. As my hand made contact with him he flinched away from me. I sigh at the situation.

"What's your name?" I tilt my head.

"W-why would you c-care?" Then I noticed the blood that covered his torso.

"Look man, I'm just trying to help you. You are covered in blood you can't expect me not to worry."

He turns his head and mumbles something. "What was that?"  I question.

He takes a deep breath. "My name is Keith." Just saying that frase seemed to take all of his energy.

"Okay Keith, well my name is Lance and we are going to get you out of here today, okay?" I smile, and put my hands on my knees to support me while I get up.

"Why? I don't deserve it." He whimpers.

I put my hand on my hip. "I've never seen a galra struggle with killing someone before. I've always been told they show no mercy in battle." He looks away, and I bend down and grab his chin. "Don't you think that's worth saving?"

Tears pour from his yellow eyes and I help him stand up by offering a hand. He gets on both feet, and when he goes to walk, he tumbles.

"Woah there buddy!" I call out for him.

"S-sorry, I'm sorry." He shakes his head furiously and keeps apologizing to me over and over again.

"Hey Keith it's okay." I take one of his arms and wrap it around my neck. "Here." I smile at him.

"Thanks." He manages. We make our way towards the stairs. We take it slow making sure he doesn't trip.

"Hey guys I found someone!" He yells. I can feel Keith's heart start to race. "Hey, Hey it's okay they are with me they are my friends."

"Um Lance you do realize that's a galra right?"

"Yes, Pidge." I roll my eyes.

"Weren't you, oh I don't know almost killed by one like a week ago." Keith flinches.

I look at Keith and then back at Pidge. "Um, yeah this is actually the galra that tried to kill me."

Hunk and Pidge look at each other. "Dude are you insane?" Hunk asks me.

"Look they put him here to rot I can't just do nothing." I plead.

"Y-you can leave me here, you don't have to take me if it's too dangerous I understand." Keith tries to say, eyes droopy.

"Ugh, no! I'm not going to just leave you here!" I yell, I look back at my crew. "Pidge go get the ship ready Hunk you can help me with him." As soon as I say that, Keith passes out.

"Shit! Hurry Pidge." I yell in her direction. Her eyes widen as she notices he is no longer awake.

I look at Hunk worried. "I don't know how much more time he has left."

Hunk looks at me with stern eyes. "He'll make Lance, come on let's go get him on the ship."
