Danni’s POV:

“Finally.” Dad sighed relieved once Justin and I ran up the driveway. He was waiting on the porch steps for us. “Where have you been? Your cab has arrived fifteen minutes ago.” He pointed to a yellow car with the word ‘TAXI’ on the roof and door. With a very impatient angry man inside. Great! This is a nice way to start our vacation…not! But on the bright side, I’m finally going on vacation without mom and dad keeping a close eye on me. Well there’s Justin, but I’m not too worried about him. He cracks under pressure. And Aunt Ashley is no problem either, she is seriously cool.

Justin and I stopped in front of the porch steps, resting with our hands on our knees to catch our breath.

“Sorry dad… we would… have been here sooner, but Danni… got detention… again.” Justin explained between taking deep breaths.

“Hey! It’s not…my fault…Mark has no…sense of…humor.” I said defensively, trying to catch my breath.

“Oh, I’m…sure he has. You’re…just not…funny.” Justin laughed out of breath.

I was about to respond, but a car horn cut me off. I turned to around and glared at the impatient old dude in the cab. I was about to respond to him, but I was cut off again. This time by dad. “Alright get your bags and load them up before that guy dies of loneliness.”

“Too late.” I muttered as Justin and I ran passed dad, into the house and up the stairs. When I got to my room I grabbed my two travel bags and guitar in its case and then sprinted down the hall, down the stairs and passed dad toward the cab. Yes!!! I won. Justin was no where in sight.

Dad helped me load my stuff in the back of the cab, but not my guitar, that is going in front with me. As soon as Justin arrived we helped him load his stuff. And it didn’t help that the irritating cab driver was telling us to hurry up the whole entire time. This guy is seriously starting to get on my nerves. And I was going to say something to him, but guess what happened. That’s right. I got cut off again, and this time by mom coming out the front door lugging a large suitcase behind her. What is she doing?! She’s not supposed to try and lift heavy stuff, it’s not good for the babies. But what can I say; I had to get my stubbornness from someone in the family, right?

I hurried over to her. “Lemme get that mom.” I said gesturing to the suitcase.

She let go and went to the edge of the first step where dad was waiting for her. “Thank you dear.” She said to me, smiling and rubbing her gigantic tummy. I don’t want to be rude, but the woman is huge! It’s like she’s gonna burst any moment. But I hear that’s normal when you’re pregnant, especially when you’re having twins. That’s right. Two babies.

“Where have you guys been?” Mom asked me as dad helped her down the steps.

“We got a little caught up at school.” I explained not going into any detail what so ever. I picked up mom’s suitcase and almost fell over from the weight. “Whoa! Mom what did you pack in this thing?”

Mom chuckled. “All my supplies.”

“And by ‘supplies’, you mean bowling balls, right?” I joked, dragging the suitcase over to dad’s car, and by the time I get there I’m gonna have some serious muscles. I handed Justin the bag and he loaded it in the car.

“Oh, don't be silly Danni.” Mom laughed, walking toward the car, with dad right behind her. “It’s all my art supplies.”

Dad sighed. “It feels like I’m going on vacation and you are going to sit in front of the easel the entire time.” He joked and mom hit him playfully on the shoulder.
