Secrets: Part 1

It was a bright Saturday when Roman decided to surprise Virgil
He's gotten the address, and the place for it
He took a deep breath and knocked on the chocolate-colored door
Virgil saw him in jeans, a black t-shirt, and the same jacket he wore ever since they've met

"Why are you here?"
He said whispering
"I have a surprise for you"
"Not now, my mom's home"
"Oh, it'll be fine, I'll just tell her that I'm your friend"
"That won't work... look, I'll talk to you later, I promise"

Roman stood still, Virgil saw the flowers and sighed sadly
"I really appreciate it, but I just can't right now"
Roman frowned and nodded
"Thank you, sweetie"
"Wait, how come you get to call me that?"
"I dunno, suits you better"

Virgil gave him a kiss on the nose before closing the door slowly
Roman looked at the flowers and left it by the door

"Sweetie, who was that?"
"Nothing mom, it was just one of those dumb advertisers"
"Oh, now tidy up, I have to leave for work"
Mrs. Myers stood up and picked up her suitcase on the white floor
"I'll be back in a few days honey, I'll leave you in charge of the house"

  She kissed Virgil on the cheek and commanded him to take care of Talyn who was still asleep
She went out and captured a sight of the flowers at her feet

"Why are they're flowers on the mat?"
"Uh.. maybe it's for you?"
Virgil thought of Roman, oh that boy. Handsome but stubborn.
"Huh, guess we better leave it in the vase"
"Alright mom, bye"
"Bye"

She went out, and the house was silent
He grabbed the flowers then placed it in the vase
He felt bad for Roman and apologized

Virgil
Hey, I'm sorry

Roman
No need for apologies, I understand that you want to
keep our relationship a secret

Virgil
I'll make it up to you, besides, my mom isn't here for
a few days... we can go out

Roman
What about your sister? left alone in the house?

Virgil
Don't worry, my cousins are here to take
care of her, I told them I'll be out for a few hours

Roman
Sure?

Virgil
Sure.

Roman
I'm here.

A knock was heard across the room, Virgil smiled and wore his new purple jacket
He fixed his hair and opened the door with a hush of wind that passed by to reveal Roman
Virgil slowly closed the door, and leaning to jump into Roman's arms

"So, where're we off to?"
"Its a secret~"
"Is it nearby?"
"A bit yeah"

Roman stuck out his hand, waiting for Virgil to take his starry hand
They hold hands and march off to garden, it was mostly empty
A few people were chattering and some were just... alone, probably taking their time

"Here we are"
Virgil looked around, the scent of flowers were fluttering around as he breathed it in
"So, what so you think?"
"I think it's, magnificent"
"Like you?"
Virgil giggled
"Like you"

Roman smiled, feeling warmth in his heart
They sat down on the wooden bench beside them
They relaxed in the peaceful garden when a butterfly stayed on Virgil's nose
Roman noticed and carefully pulled out his phone and took a picture before it flew away

"Haha! Look at you!"
Virgil went closer to the phone looking at himself with the colorful butterfly
"Heh"
Virgil weakly said
"Wanna come over to my house?"
Roman asked nervously
"I.. Is it, okay?"
Virgil pulled off a light blush looking into Roman's eyes
"Of course"

Roman grabbed his hand and pulled him, running on the sidewalks, passing by colorful houses
Cars were overlapping the noise around, but they only heard each other's deep breathing
They stumbled a small beautiful house, that was colored red and white

"Here we are"
Roman smiled with a bright spark in his eyes, looking up to his house
"Let's go"

He pulled his boyfriend in, the curtains were navy blue with little white dots to depict a galaxy
A little ray of light was peeking in to the wooden floor, dust were flying around as they stepped in
  Roman stretched out and groaned

"Ahh, home sweet home.. want a snack?"
Roman left his shoes by the door, letting his socks suck up the dirt from the floor
"I'm good, so this, is where you stay?"
Virgil did the same, only walking slowly and looking at pictures of Roman and his parents
"Yeah, I live alone.."
Virgil was shocked, he didn't know what Roman's story was, sadly enough
"So.. where are your parents?"
Roman froze, he started shivering, he said with a cold voice:
"Oh.. th-they're n-not here"

He clenched his hand into a fist, he stopped shivering, and took a deep breath
"Roman? You good?"

Virgil stepped closer to him, his hand on Roman's shoulder
The prince put his hand on top of Virgil's
"Yeah, I'm just, tired"

Roman headed to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water, the pitcher was cold as ice while he set it down
Roman reached for a glass at the tall shelf

"Want some?"
"Er- Sure"

He reaches for another one and gave it to Virgil
They drank and Roman offered to let Virgil sit down on the couch

"So, er- I've never told anyone this.."
Roman was thinking if he should regret telling his secret
"What is it?"
"Well, about my parents.."
Roman sat up properly and quivered
"They... died in a car crash, a few months ago"

The room fell silent as the cold thought entered their minds
The pitiful prince sobbed quietly, while Virgil couldn't bear to imagine it

"I.. hope you understand"
Virgil looked into his red sore eyes
"Why.. I'm always like this, so enthusiastic"
"Why, I'm always begging you to stay."
"Why.. I needed love."

Virgil hugged him as a tear dropped down to the shoulders of Roman
