Chapter 2: The Impossible Mission
" . . . Your class" The adoptive father of Kuriyama replied in a serious matter.
"What's about my class? I'm in D Class, not like in the End Class" She replied in a bored tone.
"That's why I bring the topic up" She raised an eyebrow at his reply. She crossed her legs and leaned her back at the chair.
"Remember the news about the moon?" He asked. She nodded. "There's this monster who offered to teach the E Class for the remaining year, also a.k.a the monster who destroyed half of the moon"
She widened her eyes along with her mouth. "My god, the students there could get hurt!"
"Calm down. The monster promised to not do anything that could harm to the students. And so, as I said, the monster is a he and it practically a pervert" She facepalmed.
"Another thing, it's gonna destroy the Earth in the next March. Students there are trying to kill him, well, they surely want the money or some could truly want to save the Earth" She widened her eyes once again.
"The monster you said is powerful, I guess. The government couldn't kill it, right?" She asked. "How do you know?"
"Assuming to the things you usually work, there's this once thing you couldn't finish it by yourself, and share your work to others to help" She replied in a knowing-you tone.
"Anyway, I want you to change class to E Class-" She cut her father. "Wait. I need to ask you this immediately, why did the hell you told me this? I doubt you wouldn't tell me that you just knew it, too"
Her father sighed. "Okay, okay. The monster has been teach the class for like . . . months? Anyway, let me finish on what I'm going to say just now. I want you to change to the E Class to kill the the monster-" He stopped mid-sentence, and got a paper out of his newspaper.
He gave it to his daughter and continued his sentence. "A.k.a a mission to kill the monster who destroyed half of the moon, and targeting the Earth next. Also, don't tell people about this"
"Um, you know I've never gone to a mission before, right?" Kuriyama started to complain. "The reward will be-" She stopped listening to her father, and decided to zoned out.
'Hm. What should I do for my next day of school? I'm already used to get bullied, but there must be something better I could do like . . . jack things from students . . . kick someone in the face . . . brake my desk . . . Never mind. I'm gonna get into troubles . . . '
"Kuriyama, wake up!" "Hai!" She immediately stood up from surprise. She looked at her father in annoyance. "C'mon, Tadaomi. You didn't need to yell"
"If I didn't yell, you won't listen to me" "I already did" She rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, since you're good at using your legs, it'll be an opportunity. And again, you're good at sneak attack using knives, I'm sure you'll the only one who can kill him with your very own hands" Her father putted a hand on her shoulder while looking at her seriously.
She sweat dropped. "Um, you know that the monster you're talking about is the one who destroyed half of the moon, right?"
"I know, but he has so many weaknesses. I believe in you, sweetheart" His eyes turned into a a hint of begging. Kuriyama couldn't do anything except except this impossible mission.
She sighed, and replied with a smile. "Okay, okay. Now make me my dinner already, Tadaomi" Her father smiled and went to the kitchen to cook.
