Marrisa headed over to the tech block, expecting the worst. She worried that Nadine was with Seb, and was sure that Seb was definitely going to fall for Nadine. How could she compete, with her unruly hair, scabby knees and bad sense of style: She was not the perfect idea of girlfriend-material. Plus, she had her head in the game and was not going to let a boy get in the way of her football career. However, she still couldn't stop thinking about him.
As Marrisa jogged up the steps, she turned round the corner and saw something that she wished she had never seen.
She had caught Nadine and Seb in on intense kiss that looked like it would last forever. She was now internally scarred for life. She ran back down the steps and just kept running until she was inside the main building of the school. Marrisa started to hear thudding footsteps speeding up behind her.She tried to pick up her pace while dodging other students loitering in the corridors. A strong arm grasped onto her hand, dragging her to a stop.
Thud. Thud. Thud. Went Marrisa's heart beat.
"Please wait, let me explain..." Seb pleaded. Marrisa, still too stubborn, refused to turn around and look into his eyes.
"There is nothing to explain."
His strong arms forced her to be whisked round and face him, her eyes locked on his.
"Nadine meant nothing to me. Your the one that I want. I'll do anything for you! Will you give me a chance to redeem myself?"
Marrisa's anger boiled up inside her spitting sparks in every direction.
"So Nadine meant nothing to you? Was she just one of your toys you play with then throw away? How much do you think that tells me, on how much of a player you are?!" Marrisa walked away but not quick enough to avoid seeing the lost look on Seb's face. But before she could take another step, she was pulled into his muscular arms. He bowed his head and then his lips met Marrisa's. It was the best kiss she had ever had. (The only kiss she had ever had). His lips were soft and tender- the way she had imagined.
Stop.
Marrisa's conscience shouted at her, loud and clear. She pulled away from Seb but instead of walking away she swung her fist at his jaw throwing an earth shaking punch. Seb staggered backwards into the lockers and slid down until he was crouched on floor, while caressing his swollen jaw.
"Did that teach you to think its not okay to play around? Don't you know girls have feelings and aren't to be messed around with? Well now you know."
As Marrisa finally exited with a strut in her stride, she left behind a crowd that started to form around the crumpled Seb. Seb's cheeks burned hot as he realised that a girl had just punched him in the face. Jeers and snickers came from the on lookers in the crowd. James elbowed his way through the group to reach Seb.
"C'mon mate, we have to go. The bus is about to leave." Stated James, providing Seb with a quick escape from anymore embarrassment. He helped Seb up and dragged him away...
