Chapter 18: Time to Face the Music, Part 2

Physical relationship between Danny and Alexa was confirmed. I just couldn't figure out why I felt so bad about it. So bad that I was planning to go home. This wasn't my scene anyway.

Then I suddenly felt a sharp pain on my butt.

"Ahh!" I shrieked more from the surprise than from the pain.

My exclamation caught Danny's interest and he noticed I was back. He quickly strided next to me.

"What happened?"

"Someone smacked my butt!" I said angrily and turned around to see the 'someone'.

"Hey sweet cheeks!" the smacker said and he winked at me.

"Hands off, buddy!" Danny stared at the guy with his jaw clenched and his arms crossed. "She's with me."

"Sorry, I didn't realize", the guy said but didn't seem to be sorry at all.

I think he saw I was about to give him my two cents on how to treat women because he quickly walked away.

"It really is you", Alexa said to me when she walked next to me. "I almost didn't recognize you in that outfit of yours."

Danny looked startled. "You two know each other?"

Alexa and I both nodded.
"What a small world", Danny said.

Too small, methinks.

"You didn't tell me you had a girlfriend", Alexa said and then shrugged. "Though I was too busy topping you to actually listen to a word you said."
"We aren't together so you two are free to bump uglies all you want", I said looking at both of them. "But please spare me from any dirty details about who wants to be on top etcetera."
Danny got a sudden fit of cough and Alexa looked confused.

"What?" they both asked at the same time.
"Bump uglies. It means to have s-"
"We know what it means", Danny interrupted me, "but ewww!"

"Super ewww", Alexa said and pretended to vomit. "We're cousins."
"Oh", was all I could say.
"Alexa was referring to beating me when we played pool", Danny explained. "She's so damn competitive."
"What can I say... I like to be on top", Alexa said and then hurried to continue. "As in winning, so there's no further confusion about that."

I felt oddly relieved by this information. Aaand also embarrassed. I should have just stayed quiet.

"Excuse me but I have to find something to drink", Alexa said and rubbed her forehead. "I think I threw up a little in my mouth because of some unwanted mental images."

Alexa left shaking her head. I guess she was trying to shake off those unwanted mental images.

Danny told me that his and Alexa's dads were brothers who were also really competitive. The dads had arranged a small 'pool tournament' where Danny and Alexa were also invited. As I had heard, Alexa had been overpowering. Danny also told that the relationship between him and Alexa had been better when they were younger. Nowadays they barely talked anymore and when they did, it was mostly insults and whatnot. I nodded sympathetically as I could totally relate to the situation.

Our conversation about annoying family members was interrupted when the band gathered onto the stage. Danny lead us to the front row to get good places. I sent a silent prayer somewhere above hoping not to end up being deaf after this evening.

"Good evening folks, I'm Vigilante and we're The Headbashers", Vigilante introduced the band. "Are you all ready to rock?"
Judging on the cheering sounds, whistles and clapping, the audience was more than ready.

"This little number is from our first album. It's called 'We're all doomed'", Vigilante said to the audience and then turned to face the band. "Hit it boys!"
