I belonged to an affluent family, yet we seemed to be poor in happiness, for Happiness is a sacrifice you make for Daulat. I felt jealous of the people who remained happy, no matter what happened, they had a smile stuck on their faces all day long. Some might believe that I am being ungrateful and not appreciating the sacrifices my parents made for me and my sister, Rhea. Paisa is everything in our community, unfortunately in society the worth of a person is less if they are a chumar or come from the low castes, money determines whether your children become educated, your izzat in everybody's eyes is bigger and your worth and your own worth is more than that of your neighbours, even if they are far better human beings than you.
when the land is run by greedy dogs who chase money like a cat a mouse, than the people of that land are bound to value whomever has more money. this izzat, this daulat causes us all to live miserable lives, we are all responsible to namesake, the twenty-four hour clock is non-existent in our lives, we have no clock. we are trained to value each minute and treat it as our last, but if you are taught to value each minute, treat it as if it is our last, we lose all care for time, instead we just prepare for our deaths through living like this. Days, months, years, they are all just a collage of the minutes we were trained to value, but can we truly value each minute you spend alive?
We all have dreams, but we cannot achieve these dreams living like this, women are expected to just bring the inheritors into this world, their own dreams are stifled with this expectation, left to rot in the lake of regrets in the corner of their minds, we all dream, it is just the men who's dreams are mainly brought to life.
I had a dream, my dream almost came true, almost.
In the end it failed me and left me to die with a beast I can't see any good in, with my rajakumar in a pool of his own blood in a sandy ditch deprived of life.
