Genevieve

I rested my head in my hands as I carelessly watched my teacher do her things, She was actually speaking but all I can hear was just muffled voices.

"Miss Nicholas" My teacher said now clear to me as I snapped back to reality and sat up straightly.

"Miss Nicholas, Were you even listening to me?" She placed her hands on her hips and stared sternly at me. "Yes, Ma'am" I bit my lower lip as a sign I was indeed lying.

"If you are then, What was my last question?" She raised her thick and bushy eyebrows that are very noticeable even with her  glasses.

"Your last question was 'What was my last question' ma'am." The class then started chuckling at my answer. "Don't play ga-" She was cutted off by the bell ringing, I then grabbed my things and sprinted out of the classroom. I stopped sprinting as I got closer to Elisa, my bestfriend.

"Caught dozing off again?" She giggled "Oh, Indeed" I playfully rolled my eyes and giggled.

We started talking about our classes as we both walked the crowded hallway full of students running out the door to finish hell. "Oh, I'm sorry" I quickly said as I bumped into someone, glancing up, I saw a woman maybe around her 40's or so. "It's fine" She forced a smile and continued to walk the hallway with the principal.

"Do you know her?" Elisa asked when she noticed me staring at the woman.

"No, Let's continue" I turned back to her and we continued talking as we exited through the school doors and walked up to her car.

She started feeling her pockets and heavily sighed. "Wait, I left my keys at my locker, I'll be right back." I nodded and watched her jog back inside school pushing a few people on the way in.

I stood awkwardly next to her car moving back and forth on my heels.

A black car then parked next to me and I looked at it for a few good minutes. The woman that I bumped awhile ago started walking towards the car. She noticed that I was looking at her and I quickly flashed a smile. I was literally nervous, I don't know her but I have a bad feeling about her.

She eyed me whilst walking towards the car. She stopped looking at me once she was in the car and it drove off.

"Okay, I'm back!" I slightly jumped at Elisa's sudden appearance.

"What happened to you?" She studied my face as I got inside the car. "Well remember that woman I bumped into earlier?" I asked her as she nodded as she concentrated at reversing the car.

"While waiting for you, a car parked next to me, then the woman came and she noticed I was like staring at her then she literally was like eyeing me and then left". "It was pretty creepy, tense and awkward" I quickly added.

"That is absolutely creepy, my friend." She giggled and I rolled my eyes, "Well, Duh". "She might hire people to kidnap you" Elisa creepily whispered in my ear as she parked her car infront of my house.

"Please no" I said and waved a goodbye when I got down her car and then she drove off.

I rang the bell and my dad shouted from somewhere in the house that it was opened. I opened the door and got in and locking the door just in case a burglar or "kidnapper" tries to get inside.

I jogged up the stairs and dropped my bag on my bedroom floor as I removed my clothes and changed into some more comfotable ones.

"Dinner's ready!" My dad shouted from downstairs. "Coming" I said as I changed my ponytail into a messy bun.

"So what's for dinner?" I asked taking a seat. "[Insert food here/comment]" He said as he placed the plate in front of me.

My father was like my mother, He took care of me and my other brother, worked hard for us and etcetera. My mother was never around, She was just a blurry part of my life. She left when I was a baby, so I didn't know her. She left to go overseas because we used to live in poverty, but she never sent any letters or even made a phone call. She never came back. My dad worked hard for us and look, We're living in a decent house and he has a decent job as a business salesman, I'm still surprised he still has time for us even though he's a busy man.

"So how was school?" He asked as he sat on a chair, grabbing some food also. "You know the usual, Dozing off and all that" He chuckled at my response.

"But always remember that,"

"Don't be lazy and study hard for dad" We both said simultaneously

"I know, I know. You already said that like a million times" I playfully rolled my eyes at him as I finished my food.

I stood up and placed the plate in the sink. "and also no boyfriends"   He quickly said before I exited the room.

"I'm not even interested in boys, dad".
