Kiss Of Death

Chapter 6

I woke up gasping for air panicked by the new surroundings. The walls were all made of steel and whatever I was laid on wasn't a mattress. I jumped up and opened the heavy door to see Phoenix chatting away on his phone in some sort of abandoned lab.

'You drugged me!' I charged into him with all my strength but it ended up hurting me more than it did him, which only made me all the more angry.

'Technically I didn't?' He said bye to whoever was on the phone and crossed his arms.

'Well you sedated me with your mind! That's not allowed!' I took my anger out on the metal framed desk and all that achieved was another bruise on my arm and a smashed lamp.

'Do I have to do it again?!' He yelled, his emotions were a mix of loss, lust and anger and right now his aura was showing bright red. I stepped back already feeling guilty that I couldn't stay on the good side of the only person I was going to be stuck with, the person who could potentially save my life.

I couldn't bare to meet his eyes, the past 24 hours was a rollercoaster for the both of us and we were both itching to take it out on each other.
'Charon took Coeus and Phoebe, they'll be using them as bait. If they don't get what they want they're as good as dead.' 

'Then I'll fight.'

'You can't fight, you can barely pick up your own damn sword.'

'Then I'm out of options, if you won't let me do anything about this then I'll have to hand myself in.' I zipped my jacket back up looking for an exit door in this place.

'Before you do anything irrational I already have a plan.' He stepped forward until he stood inches from my face.
I already felt what he was implying, he wanted me to kiss him.

'Now who's being irrational? You want to die for what? For the chance you might not defeat him and in the end he'll still come to get me!' He knew I was right but continued to stand close to me with the same longing on his face.

'I just can't lose you, I can't let Hades win again.' His hand pushed my hair behind my ear, I watched his mouth as he licked his lips.

'Phoenix.' I warned him.

'I've never wanted someone as much as I do you Luna.' He placed his hand on my heart feeling the beat match his.

'That much you're willing to lose your life?'

He paused looking up at the ceiling. 'Yes.'

'Then you're crazy.'

'At least this place has hot water, I'm gonna go shower, Arthur should be here soon. You can come and join me if you want?'

'Gross.' On that note we was back to being just friends.

I looked around the room struggling to see what could entertain me when I saw him strip off his clothes through the other door. I'm guessing he did it intentionally but the urge to run my hands over those muscles was killing me.

I heard in my head and instantly snapped out of it.
My phone began to ring from the room I woke up in, I went to answer it knowing full well it was Betty.

'Hey!' I tried to sound normal.
'Hey Luna where are you?' I heard a crack in her voice, I could tell something was bothering her.
'What's up?' I was scared of the answer.

'She has a knife to her neck that's what's up.'
A voice said. My hand fell limp over my mouth, I sat down to gain balance.
'Please don't hurt her.'
'I will if you don't do as I say.'
'Please I'll do anything just leave her out of this.'
'If you say anything to lover boy I'll kill her before you get to breathe, I need you to find the nearest beach and swim far into the water as possible.'
'Charon?'
'Ahh I think we're going to get along. Hades certainly can't wait to meet you. See you soon.'
'Wait-' he already hung up. I didn't have time the only chance I was going to get to escape was now before Phoenix finished in the shower. Even then that wouldn't leave me enough time to think this through properly, Phoenix would be able to hunt me down within minutes. 30 minutes tops.
