Chapter 18

Lily's POV:

What the hell are they doing here ? I froze in my tracks as I saw aunt Stella and her family looking directly at me. I couldn't talk. What was I supposed to say or do ? Jake better have this covered because this all because of him !

" lily ...? " aunt Stella said. I didn't let anyone say anything I just ran up to her and engulfed her in a big hug I wanted her ever since I woke up and now she's finally here. I don't even know how she found out. Maybe Jake told her?

" you know what's sad lily ? The fact that we're your family and we have to find everything out from the media rather than yourself " she said looking down with a hurtful expression on her face. I couldn't help but to feel guilty, I want to tell her everything but I just can't, she doesn't understand why I can't tell her. At this point everyone was staring back and forth at me and aunt Stella. I looked at Jake in the eyes and I just wanted him to take over and talk or make up some genius excuse because I didn't have anything to say to her, I was tired of lying to her face.

Jake looked at me too and I can tell he gave me that ( don't worry I got this look ) he cleared his throat and began to talk. I believe this is the first time I am liking what Jake is doing. And the award for asshole doing something good for once goes to .... JAKE PAUL !!! ( just kidding he's still an asshole it's gonna take more than that for him to win that award 🙂 )

" mrs. Stella I understand you are very upset and concerned and hurt at the fact that we haven't told you about all of this, the truth is that she just doesn't want any of you to go through hard times all because of her. She talked to me earlier and wished she saw you but she didn't have the courage to look you in the eyes because she knows that all she's gonna do is cause you stress " Jake said as everyone was glancing at us.

" Jake do you really think I am stupid ? Do you really think I don't know the ways of things teens do to get away with stuff, I was your age at once so don't even try to lie to me about anything and that goes to you as well missy " she turned to me and said as she pointed her finger at me.

" lily have you seen how much of a mess you are ? Have you seen what you are doing to yourself ? You don't come home and I know how hard it is for you to call something other than your real home a home but we want you to be happy lily. We want you to get away from all of your problems and start fresh. We want you to know that we are there for you. But you're not appreciating any of that and it's making me feel like I am doing a terrible job at looking after you ! Your mother would want to see you happy, and as your aunt I feel it is the need to accomplish that not just for you but for my sister " aunt Stella said and she had a few tears running down her cheeks as did I.

" come on guys let's leave them alone , we'll be in the car come out when you're ready " Anthony said as he rubbed my shoulder. Everyone left and at this point it was just aunt Stella her husband and her kids and Jake and I. Her kids were in the waiting room we didn't want them to hear all of this.

" aunt stell, I am so sorry and I hope you can forgive me for all of this. You are the only person I have left and don't ever say you're not doing your job right because you are. Everything is my fault and I am so stupid for that I am deeply sorry for hurting your feelings" I cried and Jake held my hand. I was still very upset and mad at him but I didn't really care about that right now, it just felt nice that he was there comforting me which I don't know why he would do that in the first place.

" lily please, I am begging you, please just let me do my job so I can feel like I have helped with something. Why don't you ever come visit or why do you respond to your texts a day late " she sighed taking a seat and putting her head in her hands. Guilt rushed over me. I stayed silent I didn't know how to answer that question.
