"Hello?" Ian crept into the library, watching the colors shine. He slid into the hallway, spotting a spot of purple sitting in a chair. "There you are..."
"H-Huh?" The brunet looked up, Ian gently tapping his shoulder.
"Hey, sorry if I scared you at the cafe... Why did you run?" Quickly closing his book, the male turned away.
"I-I... I-I don't know if you are my soulmate or not." Ian softened, sitting next to him in the beanbag chair and gently pulling the stranger over, his eyes widening.
"May I know your name at least?"
"Seto."
"Ian." Seto leaned against Ian's shoulder, scared. What if... What if he was lying? "It must be hard... having your heart broken five times..."
"I suppose..." Getting a closer look, Ian saw that Seto's eyes were more of a cloudy, misty greyish brownish color.
"What do you see, dear?"
"Black... black... and more black..." Seto mumbled, shifting his position. Taking his book out, Ian widened his eyes when he saw Seto's fingers only trailing over dots.
Blind.
"I'm... so sorry about your disability..." Seto flinched, calming down as Ian pressed him against his chest, legs wrapped around.
"That's why I can't tell... All I see is the same colors..."
"Were you born blind, or...?"
"Car accident. Killed off my father, sent my older sister into the hospital, and haha, the one who hit it was my mother, with her new boyfriend." Ian widened his eyes, Seto reaching around his face and pulling the hair back, showing the scars that slashed through his eyes. "Never thought it'll happen... I was so hopeful of seeing the world in color... Now I'm just a hopeless fool." Gently kissing his forehead, Ian hugged Seto tighter.
"I'm... so sorry for your loss... Is your older sister in the hospital now?"
"Yes... I don't have enough money to pay for it all, so she just... stays there till I get enough. But being blind... well, can't get you far with a job..." Getting up, Seto felt around the table, widening his eyes. "Where... Ian, where is my walking stick?" Ian looked around, spotting a guy talking to his friends and snickering, showing the stick.
"Just a moment, darling." Walking over, he ripped it from the guy's hands. "That's not yours."
"Whatcha gonna do about it?" Lunging to get it back, Ian sidestepped, ducking and elbowing the next one in the groin, tripping one to fall on his face. Walking back, Seto stood there confused, relaxing when Ian placed the stick in his hands.
"Here you go, love."
"T-Thanks."
"I'll carry your bag if you want to." Seto blushed, Ian finding it incredibly adorable. Halting Seto, Ian caressed his cheeks, gently kissing the brunet for a few seconds. Seto melted into the kiss, cheeks pink. Leading out of the library, Seto held Ian's arm as the two went through the streets, people looking at Seto with pity.
"Poor boy..."
"He won't be able to get a job, being blind."
"Tch, I bet that isn't his soulmate."
"Hey, I bet it is!" Seto sagged a little at the comments, his senses stronger because eyesight wasn't needed. Ian growled at the ones who would try to prey on him, getting to the hospital.
"Lilia Xavier?"
"Right this way." Going to the second floor, the nurse led them to Room 3A. Seto felt the number and letter on the door, pushing it open. "Lilia?"
"Seto!" Lilia sat up, smiling. Seto smiled, feeling around the bed and sitting down. "It's been so long since I seen you! How are you?"
"Decent, I suppose..."
"Bs, take a shower here if you need to!" Lilia fussed over Seto, softening. "I know it's hard, being blind and going through heartbreaks, but you gotta take care of yourself!"
"I know I know..."
"I wouldn't mind helping you, love." Lilia looked up.
"Who's this?"
"Ian, the one he claims is supposed to be my soulmate..." Ian stood at the doorway, refusing to go in unless he had permission, which Lilia granted. Coming in, he sat down next to Seto.
"So you're Seto's supposedly soul mate."
"I am his soulmate. I'll prove it in any way possible." Lilia narrowed her eyes, taking out a book.
"What color is this?"
"Yellow-green, somewhat a color you would get mashing a lemon and lime together."
"This one?"
"Rainbow." Lilia kept on quizzing Ian, Seto reading his book. Finished, Lilia smiled, giving a silent nod. She winked, mouthing.
I want Seto to find out you are his soulmate, just wanted to make sure.
"Seto, I found my soulmate here, his name is Noah!"
"Noah?"
"Yep! Noah!" The door opened, a boy about the same age as Lilia came in, smiling.
"Hello, Seto. Lilia told me a lot about you!" Seto looked around, Noah taking his hand and shaking it. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
"Same." Chatting for a while, Seto payed his regards and left, Ian guiding him through the hallway. "... Ian?"
"Yes, Seto?"
"Can I try to visualize how you look like?" Smiling, Ian went home with Seto, lying on the couch with his soulmate curled up next to him. Seto felt around his face and arms, misty eyes half-lidded, tired. Draping a blanket over him, Ian gently kissed his forehead, lightly kissing Seto on the lips.
"Sweetest dreams, love." The male already asleep, Ian chuckled. Finishing up anything else that he needed to do, he went back to the couch, carrying Seto to his bedroom.
I'll make you feel as loved as possible, I'll prove to you that I am your soul mate.
