Seto curled up in the bed, Ian smiling and stroking his hair gently. His leg was still crushed, the doctors trying to find a way to make him walk again besides an expensive bone transplant or amputation and replaced with a robotic leg.

"Dear, how are you?"

"Somewhat better..." Lightly chewing on caramel, Seto leaned into Ian's hand as he caressed the younger one's cheek.

"It's all going to be alright, my love." Ian picked up a cupcake, guiding Seto's fingers to eat it. "Lilia made them."

"She always loved making sweet treats..." Looking down at it, Seto took another bite.

"Seto!" Lilia ran into the room, Seto jumping.

"L-Lilia! Don't scare me like that, I was reading!"

"I made cupcakes! Do you want some?"

"Cupcakes?" Holding them out, Seto smiled and took one. "Thanks, Lilia!"

"No problem!"

"And that was the last time we got to stay at our house... That night, my vision went black, it was terrifying..." Ian held Seto close, kissing his head. "I-I'm sorry, I shouldn't ramble on my life story."

"No, continue if you're okay with it."

"A-Alright..."

"DAD!" Seto screamed as the car on the side of them smashed in, clearly a drunk driver yelling with a woman screeching as well. The car flipped, teetering over the edge of the road before falling. "D-DAD!"

"SETO, HOLD ON!" Grabbing Seto's hand, Lilia screamed as they crashed into a tree, window shattering. Seto's head knocked the side hard, fainting. Light cuts bled from the glass, Lilia trying to get Seto out.

"Dad!" Lilia looked over, screaming.

Dead.

"No... SETO, WE GOT TO GO!" Shaking the unconscious boy, Seto groggily woke up, panicking.

"I-I can't see... I-I CAN'T SEE!" Flailing in terror, Lilia swallowed, smashing open the car door, effectively dislocating a few bones. Limping out with Seto, Lilia collapsed on the ground, holding her shoulder in excruciating pain. "L-Lilia?"

"Seto..." Getting up, Lilia gasped as she saw her little brother's face.

Two main slashes down his eyes, followed by multiple others.

"L-Lilia? W-What is it?" She bit her lip, Seto scared. "W-Why can't I see? W-Where are you?"

"I'm right here, Seto." Taking his hand, the two limped and struggled away from the car, police sirens up on the road.

"L-Lilia... I'm scared..."

"It's going to be okay, Seto. Everything is going to be okay." Holding the little boy close, Seto whimpered and clung onto Lilia.

"A-Am I blind now? I-I'll never find my soulmate and see the world in color?"

"Nonsense, Seto. Your eyes are... not working right now! You'll be fine, don't worry." Smiling, Lilia gently kissed Seto's forehead. "Your big sister will be here, alright?"

"Alright." Smiling faintly, the two managed to get to the police, both sent to the hospital. The money they had and what they scrapped from their parent's bank account was only enough for Seto.

"Please? I promise I won't run, I'll come back to the hospital! Seto's not even ten, he needs some body to take care of him!" Lilia grasped Seto's hand tightly, begging to take care of him. In the end, he was sent to an orphanage, Lilia only having visiting hours.

"L-LILIA! I DON'T WANT TO GO, NO!" Throwing a tantrum, Seto screamed and kicked, clinging onto Lilia. "I WANT TO BE WITH YOU!"

"You will be with me, Seto! I'll visit you and make sure you're okay, don't worry!" Affectionately ruffling his hair, Seto sniffed. "Your big sister will be okay, be her brave little brother."

"...O-Okay..."

"You'll be okay, Seto. Your eyes will see again, everything will be okay."

"Everything will be okay... Everyday she came to see me, those were her last words." Holding the forgotten cupcake, Ian sat in silence, trying to process the information.

An accident like that when he was so young... traumatizing and scary for a little boy no older than ten.

Talking a bit more, Seto opened his mouth when the smell of smoke crept into the room.

"I-Ian?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you smell that?" Seto widened his eyes as the smell became stronger. His senses were enhanced due to his lack of vision.

"Smell what?"

"There's a fire somewhere, I smell smoke!" Bolting up, Ian pressed the back of his hand to the door.

Hot.

"We need to get out of here, NOW!" Grabbing his items, Ian looked over to Seto. "Whatever you do, do not open your eyes and let go, alright?"

"A-Alright." Ian kissed Seto lovingly, the other returning it desperately, for it may be their last kiss. Scooping Seto up, Ian barged through the door, the flames blazing. Doors flung open as nurses and doctors got the patients out, Ian ran down the stairs. The steps crumbled under the fire, the male flinching.

Shit shit shit... Can't take the elevator, the fire escape must be crowded...

Seto whimpered and clenched tighter, Ian slowly stepping back from the coming fire. The petite male coughed, Ian taking his jacket off and putting it over Seto's mouth.

"We're going to get out of here, love. Everything is going to be okay."

Everything is going to be okay.
