Chapter 27

"Good morning preggy girlfriend." Paige greeted me upon her entrance in the garden. Maaga pa at masarap sa balat ang sikat ng araw. Naging routine ko na ang gumising ng maaga at hintayin ang pagsikat ng araw sa harap ng mga mamahaling orchids at flowers sa garden ko. Sabi ng OB ko nagiging maputla na ang kulay ng balat ko dahil nagkukulong lang ako sa kwarto matapos akong matumba. I just made sure na hindi na mauulit iyon. Though, she instructed me to get some sun so I did. Paige brought a bouquet of red roses with her and I smiled when I saw it.

"Morning." I replied after our beso-beso and snatched the flowers from her. I inhaled the roses and it smelled heaven.

"Your boyfriend is here."

"Boyfriend? Who?" I queried with arched browse.

"Yung Daddy ng anak mo syempre. Halos magkasabay lang kaming dumating." Sumimangot ako sa sinabi ni Paige.

"Too bad.  Ayaw ko siyang makita today."

"Juicekolord!" Paige exasperated. "Hindi ka pa natapos sa paglilihi mo sa tao?"

"Sino may sabi na pinaglilihian ko siya?"

"Your mood, your actions, your gestures. Por dios por santo malamang, buntis ka kaya."

"Tsk..Tsk...Hindi ko siya pinaglilihian. Though I want him around every now and then. Yet, ito naman ang gusto niya di ba? So I think, he's just fine." Pambabalewala ko. Paige looked at me with horrible expression.

"Why are you being like that again?" She asked with arched brows.

"Being like that again what?" I snapped.

"You're being an Ice Queen... again."

"Ako? Ice Queen? Kailan pa yan? Bakit ngayon ko lang yata narinig yan? Wasn't I the hottest campus girl from our college department?" I exaggeratedly asked Paige back. She just wrinkled her nose at me.

"You're talking nonsense." I continued. After few seconds, tumingin ako ng diretso sa kanya.

"Paige, you know exactly what I need from Galvin." I sighed heavily.

"I allowed him to manned things around just because of the contract. Maliban doon dapat wala nang namamagitan pa sa aming dalawa. Ikaw dapat ang nakakaalam ng kasunduan namin higit kanino man." I expelled a heavy breath. After my accidental fall I realized a lot. One of them is that I'm getting used of Galvin's presence in my life and I don't like the sound of it. I was fine before him. I was living peacefully before him. I was partying and living my life to luxury before him. Then he came. I imagined myself back when I first saw his profile from Paige list of candidates to be my sperm donor. He was such an eye candy and more. His deep eyes look at me as if he's real. So, I handed his picture to Paige on that day. 

"What are you afraid of Claire?" I was transported back to reality when Paige spoke.

"Hindi ako natatakot." I answered while looking to my orchids in the garden. Somehow, I was avoiding this topic for the longest time. I lowered my gaze and stared to the roses she brought.

"Fear does not stop death. It stops life." Says Paige in riddle. I froze in my seat. 

"Save your preaching some other Paige." I stared at her blankly. "Just leave the documents that I need to sign in the library. I'll have Manong Sandro delivered it in your office this afternoon." I said and left her in the garden. Allergic ako sa ganoong topic at ayokong pahabain ang usapan about Galvin. I don't like unsolicited preaching right now. Not today.

Pumasok ako sa loob ng mansion. I asked Manang Elsa to prepare my  fresh squeeze lemon juice earlier but she failed to bring it while I was in the garden. Pupuntahan ko nalang siya sa kitchen.
