A few months passed and I was planning to propose to John. I just had to find the right way. John was visiting Hercules and Laf as they had finally moved out. I started setting up things in the house. John always loved scavenger hunts so that's how he was gonna get proposed. A huge ass scavenger hunt. I smiled. A few hours passed and John walked in the house.

John's POV

I walked in the house and wanted Alex to run up and hug me. He wasn't there. "Alex sweetheart I'm home!" Nothing. I saw a note and read it. Cold in my professions, warm in my friendships, I wish, my Dear Laurens, it might be in my power, by action rather than words, to convince you that I love you. I shall only tell you that 'till you bade us Adieu, I hardly knew the value you had taught my heart to set upon you. Indeed, my friend, it was not well done. You know the opinion I entertain of mankind, and how much it is my desire to preserve myself free from particular attachments, and to keep my happiness independent on the caprice of others. You should not have taken advantage of my sensibility to steal into my affections without my consent. But as you have done it and as we are generally indulgent to those we love, I shall not scruple to pardon the fraud you have committed, on condition that for my sake, if not for your own, you will always continue to merit the partiality, which you have so artfully instilled into me. A. Ham. Meet Laf in the spot we originally met. He will give you the rest of the information. I ran up to Alex's room and Laf was sitting on his bed holding a note. "Have fun mon ami." He held my hand and hugged me handing me the note. I read the note. In distant parts there are distant measures. Meet Eliza where we had our first distance from each other. A. Ham. I ran to the hospital and there she was. In the parking lot. She was with Peggy. They both hugged me and squealed. "Oh my god you're gonna have so much fun!" Peggy handed me the note and they ran to their car. Parting is such a pain, meet Herc in the plains where we looked at the stars. A. Ham. I ran to the plains behind the college. Alexander told me he used to love looking at the stars growing up. So our 2 month anniversary we went to look at the stars. I sprinted to the exact spot and tripped over Herc. "Fuck! My face man!" I laughed and so did he. He handed me the note helping me stand up. "This is your last note. Enjoy." I read the last note aloud to Hercules. "When all is said and all is done, we we're just kids having fun. Meet me where we had our first genuine kiss." I looked at Herc and he smiled walking to his truck. "I gotta get to work. See you later John." He drove away and I sprinted to The Schuyler sisters apartment. I ran inside the apartment and Angelica hugged me while Alex was sitting on the couch. "Let me at him! He made me run around town all day to find him."

Alex's POV:

He ran in smiling. I was sitting on the couch and Angelica grabbed him. "Let me at him! He made me run around town all day to find him!" I laughed and walked over to him. He was still a foot taller than me so he grabbed my waist and kissed me. I kissed him back and hugged him. "I have one more letter." He smiled and Angelica handed him the letter while I got down on one knee. "Read it aloud John." He laughed choking on tears. "I may have had a rough past, but I want you by my side for the flashbacks, I want to be by your side during your flashbacks, I want to fight the bad memories and make new good ones, I want to be your everything as you are mine, so John Laurens..." He turned around and I had the ring opening the box. "Will you marry me?" That scream. It sounded so loud that I'm surprised all of New York didn't come to the apartment. "Yes! Yes I'll marry you!" He then started crying. He hugged me as soon as I got up. He kissed me deeply. I put the ring on his finger and everyone came out of hiding. Everyone cheered and clapped. We got hugged by everyone and had a party. We had a few drinks but I didn't have enough for myself to get drunk. John was another story. He got on the table and started dancing. He stunk of alcohol. "Jackie get down!" I stood at the table ready to catch him. "I don't wanna Alex!" He slipped on a cup and I dove under the table and stood quick to catch him. Everyone cheered and I laughed. "Let's get you home Jackie." He nodded groggily. We said our goodbyes and left. I was getting married to John Laurens. My one, true love.
