Chapter 7: The Nightmare

A few months had passed. John and I had gotten an apartment. Just something near the college. It was summer break soon and that was when we're getting married. "Alex where'd you put the coffee?" I laughed and walked over to him handing him a mug. "There you go sunshine." He smiled a groggy smile and took a sip. With a pop of his mouth he smiled wide awake. "Who needs cocaine when you have coffee??" He took another sip and I heard a knock at the door and the door swung open. "Soon to be married men! We're here with donuts!" I looked at John and he looked at me. He set his coffee on the counter and sprinted to Hercules and Lafayette. I followed right after. "Donuts!!" John and I tackled Herc and Laf and got the box out of their hands. "Woah, don't be greedy." We laughed. "Sorry. We haven't had time to buy food." I grabbed a donut while John scarfed down a second and I took the box from him. I set it on the counter and he whimpered like a sad puppy. "Jackie you're gonna get sick." He smiled and wrapped his arms around my waist kissing my neck softly. Going down lower. I giggled softly and pushed him away looking at Lafayette and Hercules. They laughed. "Well we'll see you tonight guys." John and I looked at each other confused then back at Hercules and Laf. "Umm... remind me what's tonight?" "We go to meet with General Washington tonight." "Right! And it's Pegleg's birthday!" "Oh yeah!" "We'll see you tonight guys." They walked out and I smiled. John scooped me up and threw me on the couch laughing. He started kissing down my jawline and I surpassed a moan. He started kissing my Adam's apple holding my arms down on the couch. He bit my Adam's apple. I let out a soft moan as I heard a knock on the door. I got up and he pulled me back down on the couch. I laughed and kissed him softly as I heard another knock. I walked to the door and Aaron was there holding a gun. "Surprise!" He shot me in the chest and I fell. I saw John and started to cry as he ran to me. Aaron ran away and I woke up. It was a dream! All of it was a dream! I smiled as John was sleeping soundly his eyebrows furrowed like always. I got out of bed and checked the time. 2:30?? I'm never gonna fall asleep again. I might as well go get some work done. I walked downstairs to our study and turned on the light then shut it off quickly. Way too bright. I grabbed a candle and a match. I went to my desk and started writing. I heard the creaking of the stairs and kept writing. I heard the door open and a faint yawn. "Alex it's three in the morning. What are you doing up?" "I had a nightmare. I didn't wanna wake you up." He smiled. I could tell. He walked over and wrapped his hands around my shoulders. He massaged my shoulders slowly and I surpassed a small moan. "Jackie, stop that." "Why do you write like you're running out of time?" (Haha). "Because if I don't then the work doesn't get done and I fail." He kissed my cheek. "My father invited me to a ball. I don't know why but he did and I really don't wanna go home alone. Will you come?" I smiled and kissed him. "I would be honored." He smiled and sat in my lap. "Perfect." He put his head in the crook of my neck and fell asleep. This would be perfect. He'll see
