E L S A

We walked all the way to my house. I didn't say one word. On the other hand, Jack wouldn't stop talking.

"Elsa?"

"Can you explain?"

"I'm so confused."

"Elsa!"

"Please."

"I'm so lost."

I finally stopped walking and Jack bumped into me. I was too concentrated though to care. I walked up to the door and pulled on the door knob.

"Huh, that's weird. It's open..." I said, opening the door and walking in. Jack followed behind me quietly. I haven't been in here in so long, everything is a disaster. There were glass bottles everywhere and smashed picture frames. There was trash all over the floor and the house looked like a tornado had flown through it. I looked in every room downstairs to see if I could find out anything about my mom.  There was nothing downstairs that I could find, so I went upstairs. I checked in my room, Anna's room, my parents room, the bathroom, there was nothing. I was walking back to the stairs when I passed the guest bedroom. The door was ajar slightly and there was a weird smell coming from the room.

"Jack..." I said quietly. He came to my side and pushed open the door. We both walked in and saw that this room was trashed way more than the rest of the house. The bed was broken, the sheets were torn like somebody took a knife to them, the lamp was broken on the ground, and the bookshelves were knocked over with the books scattered everywhere.

"Oh my gosh." Jack said. I nodded in agreement. I started looking around carefully to see if I could find anything. I noticed there was little splotches of a dark substance on the carpet. The trail led to the en suite and got bigger the closer we got. Jack opened the door and quickly covered his nose. I looked at him confused before coming up beside him. I quickly covered my nose as well from the horrid stench and walked into the bathroom. I gasped when I looked in the bathtub. There, lying lifelessly and covered in blood, was my mom. I had no emotions. I didn't know what to think. I just stood there and stared at my deceased mother. My mind wandered to the good times I had with her. We would always go and get ice cream together. We would spend the weekends hanging out and doing girly things. We would talk about boys and how they had cooties. We would give each other make overs and paint each others nails. She was the best mom a girl could ask for.

I was pulled from my senses by Jack wrapping his arm around my body. I turned to face him and looked into his eyes. He looked devastated. He had tears in his eyes and looked at me in pity.

"Why don't I feel more sad about this? I knew she was dead, she told me herself, but I didn't want to believe her. And now that we've found her, why am I not crying? I must feel something, I mean, she was my mom..." I said in a voice so quiet I thought Jack couldn't hear me.

"You're just in shock. And what do you mean she told you?" He said back with a little more volume. I took his hand and lead him to my room.

"Okay, so I had this dream at the house. It started off dark and ended with my mom telling me she was dead and that I'm about to experience lots of changes and learn how to control myself. I don't know what any of that means, but one thing that surprised me was that she was the one who lead me to live when I tried to kill myself. I didn't know how to react, but all I knew was that I needed her and that I couldn't have her." I explained.

"Wow. That... man, that's a lot to take in."

" I know. I still am having trouble wrapping my brain around it. But now that I just saw my mother dead, and that I know my father is the culprit..." I stopped talking. It was all sinking in at that moment, a dead mother, a murderer for a father, a life that I I thought was improving, and now this crazy shit starts happening.

"Um... Elsa... y-you're kinda making it snow..." Jack said disrupting my thoughts. What did he just say?

"What?"

"Look up..." Jack said slowly pointing up. I looked above me head and saw that I was, indeed, making it snow. I just stared for a moment. Is this what my mother meant by changes? There is no possible way that, I, could make it snow, inside, in the middle of May. I started freaking out. My breathing started to become shallow and I started to feel shaky. I was having a panic attack. I hadn't had one in a long time, so with it happening then made me freak out even more.

"Hey shh Elsa calm down. Just breathe with me, ready? In, out, in, out... that's it. Keep it going." Jack said holding me close. We sat like that for several minutes until I had calmed down. I finally looked at him.

"Sorry. I haven't had one of those in so long." I said, looking him in the eyes. He gave me a small smile back and hugged me.

"You wan't to know what's weird? The more you started to freak out, the more it started snowing. I thought you were going to freeze the whole house, so I did the only thing I knew how to do." Jack said. I looked back at him and couldn't help but kiss him. I can't believe that Jack, of all people, is the one person who has stuck by my side throughout everything. We kissed until we were out of breath. As we pulled away from each other, Jack looked around and laughed.

"Hey, you just thawed all of the snow." I looked around the room, and laughed with him. I looked back at him and went to ask him a question, but he cut me off.

"Police?" He asked pulling out his phone.

"How'd you know I was going to ask that?" I asked, smirking.

"Lucky guess?" And with that, we both laughed and called the police.

An hour later, my mother's dead body was removed from the house and the guest room was used for investigation. Obviously, they knew it was my father who caused all of this, since he was already locked up and he was the only one seen coming from in and out of this house in the past couple months. Once all of the evidence was taken into account, the police left and Jack and I started heading home.

"Now, how do I tell Anna?" I asked suddenly. Jack just looked at me and shrugged. Well, I guess we are about to find out.
