the days were colder and dominic still hadn't gone back. he was more terrified then anything, really. he didn't want to be rejected again. somehow, he felt different that day and forced himself to go.

he entered the coffee shop with shaking hands and a racing heart.

"hello! welcome to - oh!"

lola was out from behind the counter in a flash, standing in front of him with her gorgeous smile.

"you came."

"yeah."

he felt like running away again.

"my shift needs in ten - sit down and i'll get your drink."

he nods silently and gives her the five, reassuring her to keep the change. he sits at his usual table, a bit more relaxed. lola returns with his drink, then goes back to the counter. when jade walked in, he sent her a small smile and got one in return. then, lola is back at his table.

"i'm sorry," she breathes out.

"okay."

"i wasn't eating enough apparently and i work everyday and i got sick, my body couldn't handle all of it. i was ashamed to tell you and..." she looked away, flustered. "you acted like you cared and i was scared."

"but i do..."
