I sighed as I dragged myself to third period. I was so tired and in no mood for double chem. I just wanted this school year to end. Two more months. It felt like years.
To my surprise, my teacher was out. She was NEVER out. The sub gave us all a pleasant smile as kids switched up their seats and names so they could be with their friends.
“Alright. Your teacher didn’t leave much for you to do so these next to periods are going to be a study hall.” Immediately the class burst into chatter as the sub grabbed a book and sat down at her desk to read. I sighed as people took out their phones and started to text their friends. I just put my headphones in because I had no one to text. I gave one cautious glance over at Sean before putting my head down and trying to get lost in my music. I felt alone because I was the only person that wasn’t getting texts or talking to someone in the class.
I sighed as I thought about last night. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Liam was really nice and so was his Mom. Evan was cool but definitely a player as his brother had told me. I was actually looking forward to the next time I saw them. I finally had a friend. A smile slipped onto my face as I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts.
Hey r u awake? I sent the message to Liam. I did have a friend I could talk to.
My phone lit up not even a minute later.
Well since I never fell asleep, yeah. He responded.
Why ddnt u go to sleep?
Just cldnt fall asleep. Rnt u in skool rite now?
Yea. I hve a sub and its double chem, so im bored out of my mind.:P
I felt a tap on my back and I looked up and took my head phone out of my ear and turned around.
“Hey Sami- uh I mean Danni…” Marissa one of the girls on my sister’s cheer team smirked. She clearly knew how to annoy me. “who are you talking to?” She asked. I rolled my eyes.
“Don’t you have something better to do than to stand here and talk to me? I’m not my sister and you seem to know that.” I shot back. She rolled her eyes.
“I’m sorry for trying to start a conversation.” She squeaked.
“I’m talking to my friend.” I replied and turned my attention back to my phone that just vibrated.
“Ooh who’s Liam?” She smiled. I shook my head.
“My friend.” I put my head down slightly when I noticed that Marissa’s comments had drawn Sean’s attention toward me.
“Just a friend?” She winked at me. I nodded and shifted uncomfortably. Suddenly her fake happy tone dropped as she leaned in and whispered harshly to me. “Well maybe you should make him more than a friend and back away from Sean Mitch.” My mouth almost dropped to the floor as I narrowed my eyes at her. How did she know I liked him? I didn’t even have to ask. Sami squealed. She gave me one last smirk before turning around and walking over to Sean and started to flirt with him. I felt anger burn in my chest as I clenched my hand into a fist. I tried to shake it off as I turned back to my conversation with Liam.
Remind me to kill my sister l8r. I typed in, my hands shaking.
…Y? His responses were quick which was good; it kept me from marching over to Marissa and throwing her slutty ass out the window.
I’ll tell you l8r.
Well when is later? I read the text and thought about it.
Hmm… do u wanna hang out after I get out of skool? I asked him.
