I'm fifteen years old now and things in the Maycomb house have changed a lot. The arrival of six other orphans especially.About eight months after I had arrvied, a seven year old boy named Seth came. Soon after Seth, a seven year old boy named Nicholas came. Then came Thea, then Kade, then Sander. The last one to join the house was a very petite, shy little girl named Lacey. Her long platinum blonde hair and light golden-green eyes, along with her ivory pale skin, made her look like an angel. She was even more anti-social than Bonnie. Even now, Lacey doesn't talk as much as we do, but she isn't as shy and scared as she used to be. Considering that all of us were in the same age range, getting along was a fat chance.

Sitting at the dining room table during breakfast, being me, I decided to have a little fun.

"Hey Nick!" I teased playfully. Behind my hand, was a loaded spoon of oatmeal. "Huh?" he replied, turning to face me. As soon as our eyes met, I pulled back the spoon and--wham!-- launched the oatmeal right in his face. "Dude!" he yelled as the oatmeal fell onto his shirt. He then cracked a smile as he began loading his own spoon-full of oatmeal. "Nicholas Ethan Maycomb don't you dare!"  Ms. Paula scolded, still holding back the giggling caused by my prank. "Argh, fine!" Nick said as he slammed his spoon into his bowl and crossing his arms. "Cass, you're fifteen, Nick, you're sixteen. Grow up you two." Ms. Paula scolded as she placed her bowl in the sink. "But being grown up is no fun!" I whined. "Get used to it." She replied, crossing her arms and looking at me. "Nick, go get cleaned up and Cassidy, you have kitchen duty." I groaned unhappily as I got up from my seat. I loaded all the dishes on the table into the sink, when Nick turned me around and gave me a big hug; full of oatmeal. "Yuck!" I screamed as I looked down at my shirt. Everyone started laughing so hard they were crying. Nick just gave me a grin and laughed as he walked upstairs to change his shirt. "I'm gonna get you back!" I shouted. "Yea, yea, yea!" He called back. I turned around to see everyone still laughing at me. "It's not that funny." I pouted. "Oh, it's funnier than you think, Cass." Sander laughed, rubbing my head as he walked passed me. Everyone walked by me, giggling and smiling.

I looked at Ms. Paula to see her still laughing. "Ah!" I scoffed. " I'm sorry hun, but that was funny." she said apologetically, and began walking out of the room. I glared at her, then resumed my chore. After a while, I began giggling about what Nick did. "Show off." I muttered. "But no worries, I'm gonna get you back." After the last dish was washed, I ran upstairs to change my shirt to something less... oatmeal-y. I had just pulled it over my head when Thea called out, "Soccer in ten!". I changed into shorts and tennis shoes, then ran to the bathroom to pull my hair up into a ponytail. Once I was ready, I ran outside to enjoy a nice, revengeful game of soccer.
