A/N::: This is just something I'm playing with. I have no plans for it or anything it's just an idea that came to me that I had to put down on paper er... screen. LOL. Let me know what you think. PLEASE LEAVE VOTES OR FEEDBACK IF YOU WANT ME TO CONTINUE THIS.
"Jeremy, don't leave me!" I begged near tears.
Jeremy laughed and ran off saying "You don't have to cry Amber. Man you're so annoying"
I cried as I watched him run off without me.
I was on top of the monkey bars and since I was wearing a full dress from taking family pictures earlier today and dress slippers I couldn't get off by myself.
Jeremy was my next door neighbor and our parents did everything together so, naturally, Jeremy and I were always together too. It's not like we'd had much choice in the matter of hanging out together I mean, we were only 6. He'd told me to get up here because we were pretending that he was a knight and I was a princess and he was trying to slay the dragon that was carrying me away. (The dragon really being the monkey bars.)
Suddenly a hand took hold of mine and I stopped crying looking down at the hand and then looking up to who it belonged to. It was a boy that looked to be the same age as me with dark blonde hair and blue green eyes.
"I can help you get down." He offered and I nodded with a small smile.
He helped me down each step one by one making sure I didn't fall and that my dress didn't go under my feet until finally we were at the bottom. I hugged him instantly feeling so relieved to be down from there because my hands had been getting tired.
"Thank you." I said gratefully and he gave me a lopsided smile with a short nod of his head.
"I'm Nathan."
"Amber." I replied back happy to make a new friend. Especially one who was nice. Jeremy was sometimes pretty mean to me.
"I got a new puppy today wanna see?" He said excitedly. I nodded quickly and followed him to the other side of the playground.
"Mom I'm gonna show Booker to Amber." He said as he kneeled down by a box. I went up to it slowly hoping it wasn't too big and then I saw it. The cutest puppy I've ever seen! It was all white and looked soft and cuddly.
"Aww. It's so cute. Is it a boy or a girl." I asked petting the head gently.
"It's a boy. Wanna hold him?" He offered and I agreed with a smile.
"Amber!" I turned and saw Jeremy calling me and I called his name to let him know where I was. He came over to us and smiled when he saw the puppy.
"Cool can I hold it?" Jeremy asked.
I looked over to Nathan and he looked hesitant but then nodded. I passed the puppy to Jeremy and he took it happily.
"I want a dog but my mom says they're messy." Jeremy said as he petted the puppy as he held it.
"Well my mom said I could have one but I have to clean up after him and feed him. Even bathe him." Nathan explained.
"Eh too much work." Jeremy handed back the puppy to Nathan and grabbed my hand.
"Come on Amber, your mom said it's time to go." I followed dejectedly and waved to Nathan who looked sad to see me go too.
"Bye Nathan."
"Bye Amber." He mumbled as he watched us leave.
Three years later..... (9 years old)
"Amber give me my cake back!" Jeremy whined as he chased me around the house for the piece of cake I stole from him.
