The rest of that afternoon consisted of basic city patrols, and when dusk hit, I was finally given permission to go back home with the exception of reporting to Endeavor first thing in the morning.
The topic of my quirk came and gone quickly, so in turn it wasn't discussed for the remainder of the day. I was thankful for that, but I could still tell that both Todoroki and his father were still itching to ask me questions.
On my way home, I didn't particularly understand how they read me so well. It was strange, but something I shook off nonetheless.
After all, strange things were something I was familiar with.
I walked into the house grudgingly and kicked the door shut behind me. It was quiet beyond the hall, and I could only assume that Aizawa was sleeping somewhere.
Roaming into the living room proved me right, as I saw him laid up on the couch with a fluffy blanket pulled up to his nose. His breathing was even and his face looked peaceful. I smiled at the thought of him getting a few decent hours of sleep.
I turned out the doorway and into the kitchen across the hall, intending to prepare a meal for Aizawa when he finally woke up. My hand hovered over the refrigerator handle as my head began to pulsate. I flinched openly and stumbled back to the island to regain my balance, but the world around me still looked like it moved in circles all on its own. I swallowed down a groan as I crumbled to my knees, hands flying up to the sides of my head as I leaned forward. I pressed my forehead against the cold tile floor and squeezed my eyes shut, damning the laughing in my ears and the static that made them bleed.
"Are you scared, Osoroshi?" I heard Dream Walker ask amongst the static obscuring everything else. "This would end if you'd come with me. If you'd listen to me."
"G-go to hell." I spat breathlessly, sucking air back into my lungs as I squeezed my eyes shut.
"You really are a troublesome girl," he hissed lowly, making me nauseous. "It's starting to annoy me."
"Get out!" I shrieked, rocking myself as I began to feel claustrophobic.
He laughed again. "Now isn't the time for that. I want you with me, even if I have to force it."
His tone was cold, and at his words my body straightened and my back arched similarly to how it did during the first quirk two-on-two match at U.A. My eyes were glued to the ceiling, and I watched dazedly as the lights above me flickered eerily.
Soon, I had fallen to my side, and as Dream Walker continued to spout threatening babble in my ear, my eyes fluttered shut and I was forced away from the world I knew.
As quickly as I had fallen, I shot up from the crystal like floor of the in between, cursing helplessly as I whipped around.
The scenery was a red sky, black clouds, and black marble floor — identical to the one I had seen when I first called Nightmare; my mother.
I scrambled to my feet, and as I did, black mist swirled a few feet away from me and formulated into the silhouette of a man; the same man I saw sitting on my bed a few nights prior.
"You..." I managed hoarsely.
"Me." His white grin crackled across his face.
"Where's my mother?" I asked immediately, figuring now was the best time to figure out her condition.
"Todoroki and his father are quite something, don't you think?" Dream Walker asked, disregarding my question as his figure faded closer to me. I shuffled a step back. "They ask too many questions, huh?"
