Never The Same

I quickly got dressed into my new outfit I purchased a few days ago.

The shirt I bought had a big tongue on it, my black pants were ripped,

I used my purse with the black and white plaid on it,

and I wore my new black boots with stars on them:

I basically began to run out the door.

I guess I could check out my sisters on the way back.

I arrived at the Dingo in less then ten minutes that's how excited I was.

When pulling up to the side window of the building, I checked myself out in my car mirrors.

And now I think I'm ready...

I got out of the car slowly feeling nervous vibes in me.

Opening the front door, I couldn't help but smile.

This was all too perfect like one of those fairytale movies except this is actually coming true.

I walked inside and looked around until I saw Darry's head sticking up from a booth in the back.

I looked down at my watch and made sure I was right on time.

But instead I was three minutes late, but I shook it off.

I nervously paced back and forth, until I got the nerve to go and talk to him.

I could hear my own heels click on the tile as I began to walk to the back of the restaurant.

I stopped and turned to look at him when I realized he wasn't sitting alone.

On the same side of the booth as he was sat no other then Beth.

She was wrapped around his arm like a vine or a snake.

They were both fraternizing and laughing with each other.

It made the funny and whimsical feeling in my stomach vanish quickly.

I cleared my throat for them to both look up at me and once they did Beth's smiled stayed.

But Darry's dropped.

Darry tried to smiled while saying, "Katie, please take a seat."

I sat down across from them trying to smile but giving up knowing I couldn't.

I finally asked, "What's going on here?"

Beth then said to me, "Darry just asked me out isn't that great!"

I looked over at Darry then back at Beth.

I slowly stood up and walked straight on out of the restaurant.
