I was all suited up for our trial cases...yep you heard me right.
Both me and Darry have to go on trial to make sure we are still capable of taking possessions over our siblings.
I walked into the Curtis house to see Darry and Soda were the only two in the living room.
Darry was sitting in his recliner chair and Sodapop was on the couch.
They looked handsome especially Darry, but he hasn't been the same lately.
He's been ignoring me sometimes and doesn't even want to go out when I offer.
I really want to talk to him about his problem but he just won't open up.
Darry was in his recliner chair with his back facing me.
I walked up behind him and put my hands over his eyes while smiling.
I said in a whisper, "Guess who?"
He took my wrists and put them away from his eyes.
He just kept on reading his newspaper as if I didn't say anything.
I looked away a little annoyed and asked Sodapop who was sitting down on the couch,
"Are you ready for today?"
He asked me, "You mean the day the judge decides whether to send me away forever...not really."
I rubbed against his shoulder and assured him, "Everything will be fine."
He asked looking at me, "And what if it ain't? Pony and me could end up in a boy home taken away from here."
I looked at him and said, "Hey, you have us and do you really think we would let both of you leave so quickly?"
He kind of smiled and said, "No..."
I replied, "Exactly, now quit worrying because if I'm still around you ain't going anywhere."
He gave me a small hug telling me, "Thanks, Katie, I needed that."
I smiled back at him and replied with, "You're very welcome."
He got off the couch and went into the kitchen probably to get something to eat.
Darry then put his newspaper down and said to me, "Thanks I could tell he needed to hear that."
I got up and began to walk outside and said to him, "He did, and it's not like you were going to say anything."
He got out of his chair and said, "What do you mean?"
I grabbed my coat I left here from the last time I visited and said, "You've never paid any attention to any of us but yourself after Johnny and Dally left."
He raised his voice with me, "Hey, that's not true you don't know about the hell you're talking about."
