Ethan's POV

   I look down the hall to see a crowd of people, I look to find Grayson to make sure it wasn't him. I see him and Jessie walking down the hall, "Ethan, what's going on?"
"I don't know, I was looking around to make sure it wasn't you."

"So what, you want to be the hero now Alayna. I thought you wanted to ruin their lives." I hear Lexie's voice and rush over to the crowd. I see Lexie walking with a bloody nose and some scratches on her face. I see Elenas face, my heart instantly sinks. Her face has bruises and her fist have a slight coat of blood. My fist start to ball up in anger and I can't control it. I watch as they enter the principals office. "We have to go Ethan, mom is waiting for us." I want to see if she's ok, I don't want to leave. But Grayson doesn't really give me a choice.

    "I'm going to wait for Elena so go Ethan, I'll text Grayson with updates." I watch as Grayson kisses Jessie quickly and we head to his car. He pulls out of the parking lot and we drive home. The only thing on my mind is Elena.

Elenas POV

    I walk into Mr. Greens' room and sit in the desk in the back corner. Lexie goes to the front and immediately grabs her phone out. I roll my eyes, and I see Alayna coming to sit near me. I ignore her and start tapping my pencil against my desk, looking down at the clock waiting to leave.
I can feel her eyes on me, but I don't turn around to see. "Hey, I- are you okay?" I turn my head and see that she has a worried look on her face.

     "Yea, I'm fine. Thanks for helping me I guess." I can't get over what Lexie said, what did she mean that they wanted to ruin our lives. I knew she was talking about Jessie and me. We never did anything to them, why would they hate us. "I'm sorry, this is partially my fault. At first I just wanted Grayson back, but now I realized that isn't right"

"It's fine."

   "No it's not. But I'm trying to change, you're a really nice person, and Ill try my best to make sure Lexie doesn't try to do anything else." I know deep down she's probably a nice person. I seem to forgive people too easily, but I don't hold grudges. "We can just start fresh."

   "Friends," I see her smile, and move to the seat right next to me. 

 "Friends."

    "So, can I still come over to your house tomorrow for the project." Fuck. I can't, she can't. Once Tim finds out that I had detention he's going to kill me. I can't risk him being there and her seeing him. "Can we just meet at your house?" Praying in my head that she will just say yes.

    "Nope, my parents are having some adult party thing." Of course my luck. "Ok, my house it is." I put on my best fake smile and she smiles her brightest. 

    The bell finally rings, signaling that detention is over. I grab my bag and head straight for the door. I get in my car drive home.

    Once I get home I realize Tim isn't here so I go to my room and lock the door. I sink into my bed and slowly fall asleep.

   I wake up from the buzzing of my phone and realize its Ethan calling me.

                      Can I take you somewhere?
