Her smile can lead me through fire it's so addicting. Like a moth to a flame. Her finger tips dance across mine as she leads me to the living room. She leads me to the couch and sits me down. She leans down slowly as if to kiss me but stops inches from my lips. "Wait here." A smile flashes across her lips as she quickly turns away leaving me wanting more.
I watch her as she turns away. I wait on the couch as patiently as I can. This woman is driving me made but I've never felt more sane. She knows the truth about me. She's the only person, well, other than my parents, that know who I really am. Maybe I should be worried that a reporter knows my truth but she's known. She's the only person to figure me out. I think I can trust her if she's known this about me and hasn't published it on every paper yet. Finally, I found someone that sees me for me and not what strengths I have. Someone so selfless and kind.
I barely know her but I feel like I've known her all of my life. I feel myself grinning on her couch like an idiot and wait for her to return.
She comes back with her long hair tied up in a high ponytail, leaving her long hair to fall in waves behind her. Her face clean from the day and clear from all of her make up. She's in light pink satin pajamas with a light robe with little flowers all over.
She falls on the cushion next me and turns to me. "I think it's time to tell you my secret." She looks down to pull my hand into hers and I can't help but feel somewhat nervous. She takes a deep breathe out. "Clark. I'm nap girl. And my super power is being extremely good at napping." She places another hand over the one she's holding and lets out a laugh. Caught off guard, I realize she's joking. Her soft laugh fills the room and I find myself laughing along. "I just wanted you to accept me for who I am." She gestures to her no make up and her comfy outfit. I can say she looks more beautiful now. She's so naturally beautiful that I can't help but stare. And everytime she smiles I get lost.
"I think I can get used to this." I point from her head to her toes showing that I mean all of her. From her sweet voice to her big green eyes. Our laughing dies down and after a moment I place my hand over hers. She tangles her fingers in mine and we watch our hands as we remain on opposite sides of the couch. I let my pointer finger trace her palms and follow up her arm. Our eyes follow my fingers as they trail up to her neck. Her eyes close as she leans into my hand. My hand always seems to find her soft face. It's like my hand was built to cup her face. It fits perfectly in the small of my palm and everytime I place my hand there, her heart beat evens. Her eyes close lightly and a sweet smile sits on the corners of her lips.
I lean into kiss her once more but this time the sirens come back. My face falls as I hang my head. "What's wrong?" I swear she speaks in sweet whispers. I raise my head back to face her and her hand reaches up to trace my jawline. Her fingertips follow from my neck down to my chin. I can't help but smile. Her little movements make me feel home. "I have to go." She leans in and rests her forehead against mine.
Charlie's POV
I stay on the couch and watch him slowly float away. Our hands still touching til we can't reach eachother anymore. And then he's gone.I feel so content sitting on the couch by myself for a moment. My finger lifts to my lips as they still tingle from his touch. What just happened?
My thoughts finally catch up to my heart as I start to think realistically. What am I even doing? I've been here a week and I've fallen for some sort of super human man? This can't be happening. He doesn't even know the half about me. How broken I've been. Where I'm from. How could I be so stupid to let someone in so fast? Like I can bury the past behind me and just invite this man to kiss me.
