Lia

I woke up the next morning at 10 am. I needed to make sure that this day went perfectly. I did my regular morning routine and then it took me a good 15 minutes to pick an outfit. After endless searching I found the perfect outfit. I decided to wear a striped black & gray tank top, black high waisted shorts, a denim jacket and my basic black vans. To top it off I put on a black velvet choker and a quartz necklace. I put my hair up in a pony tail and then put on my makeup. I just did a really casual look because I didn't wanna go full cake face to my first date with Sebastian. Wait was this a date?

I walked out of my room and downstairs and right when I got to living room I stopped dead in my tracks. I saw my brother sitting on the couch. He was in his uniform and my mom was sitting next to him. "Kai?" I said in disbelief. He turned around and as soon as I saw his face I ran to him. I hugged him and almost started crying. "You're here! You're actually here."

"I know," He said. We released from our hug and wiped a few tears away from my face.

"What- what're you doing here?" I asked. I hadn't seen him in months and I hardly get to talk to him so it's been really hard on me.

"I'm on leave for a while," he said smiling. "and mom told me what happened." My mood instantly dropped.

"Let's not talk about that now, you're home and that's all that matters." I said hugging him again.

"Let's go get lunch," My mom said getting her bag from the couch. I agreed but then I remembered about my date.

"Oh mom I can't," I said. "I have a.. lunch thing with a friend." I said fidgeting with my fingers.

"With who?" she said folding her arms. I hate when she does that, it's so intimidating.

"Some guy I met when I went to San Francisco ," I said. Yes she found out I went with Kian. She's a mom, they know everything...

"Oh well in that case! No." she said unfolding her ams. "You barely know him and I will not allow you to go off with some stranger!" Her voice just kept getting louder and louder.

"Mom I'll go with her," my brother said. "I'll make sure she's okay." I could tell my mother was still a little skeptical about the idea of me going to lunch with a stranger but she allowed me to go. I thanked my brother. He got changed and then we left.

Kai was driving and then asked me, "So what's the deal with you and that guy?" I rolled my eyes and smiled.

"Oh the guy I'm having lunch with? Yeah his name in Sebastian, we met in San Francisco and-" I was saying but then he cut me off.

"No no no, I meant that Kian guy," he said.

"Oh him," I said now feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Well he moved next door in like April I believe, and yeah we've gotten pretty close since then." Kai glanced over at me. "What?"

"I know there's more," he laughed. "Did you guys date?"

"No of course not!" I said putting my foot up on the dashboard. "He likes me, and I guess I kinda like him but nothing can happen between us. It's just too complicated. He's like... a man whore! He's been with an insane amount of girls. I just can't be another one of 'those girls'."

"Men can change Lia," he said. "you can't let the relationships that broke you in the past affect your future relationships. Not all men are lying, cheating dirtbags." I scoffed and just turned up the music. But maybe my brother was right... I just brushed the thought away and started thinking about my coffee date with Seb.

Kai  dropped me off at Urth Cafe and left to go to the beach. I texted Sebastian and asked where he was but before I could send the text I felt someone tap my shoulder. I jumped a little but when I looked behind me I was relieved to see Sebastian standing there. "Oh hey," I said hugging him.

We got a table outside and were sipping our drinks and just talked about life. I learned so much about him. I opened up to him about almost everything that happened in my life. Except for the incident, it was too soon to tell him about that. But I never felt a connection like this with someone it was amazing. I haven't felt this way since... well... since Kian.
