CHAPTER FIVE
“Alexandria!” a shout from downstairs woke Alex up. She groaned and covered her face with a pillow. She wanted to sleep more and if her mom’s shouting won’t stop, her plans to have a nice long sleep won’t be sufficed. Alex sat up quickly that she felt a sharp pain in her head. She dive out of bed and rushed downstairs to check if her mom is really home and she’s not hearing things.
She found her mother in the kitchen putting groceries away. She quickly embraced her mother from the back. “Mother! I missed you.” She kissed her mother on the cheeks and inspected the grocery items.
“Don’t touch anything,” her mom slapped her hands away, “there’s food in the fridge, you can eat that.”
Alex scowled and rummaged the fridge. She found some club sandwich and few slices of cheesecake. “Have you eaten, mom?” she asked her mom as she took out the food.
“Yes I have. Don’t worry about sparing something for me. I’m going to sleep now, I’m so exhausted from all the traveling.”
Alex continue to eat her breakfast when she heard her phone beep, meaning she got a text message. She fished out her phone from her pocket and read the message from Mitch inviting her to go visit the mall and buy some stuff for her room because she’s redecorating. Alex replied quickly with a yes and finished quickly.
She showered and change into a white washed skinny jeans and ecru mini dress, she also wear her black ankle boots and her black cardigan. Because her mom is sleeping she decided to just leave a short note saying where will she be and who’s she with in the coffee table. She rushed out and walk to the nearest bus station. When she passed by the spot where Blake almost hit her with his car, she stopped abruptly and can’t help but remember what occurred that day but she can’t dwell on that memory so she shook her head and continued walking.
As she was walking, the whole incident came back to her and smiled at the thought that the whole thing is her very first encounter with the football captain and it was followed by his annoying presence in their cafeteria table and his reminders of what happened the day before. She chuckled when she think and he’s not really that bad because a week earlier she really do hate his guts and almost everything about him.
She reached the bus station peacefully this time and waited for the right bus to the mall. She texted Mitch that she’s already on the station and just wait for her near the entrance. She’s done sending the message when the bus arrived, she climbed up and endured the ten minutes bus ride to the mall.
Alex immediately saw Mitch when she reached the mall. “Mitch!”
They went in the mall hand in hand and went to visit some shops that sell decorations and wallpapers for Michelle’s room. They chose the light blue wallpaper because neither of them is very fond of the color pink that the saleslady keeps on insisting to them. After buying everything needed for the redecorating, they part ways so they can buy whatever they might like and decided to just meet before lunch in McDonald’s.
Alex went up to the second floor to look at the bookstore if they have new books that will interests her. She was searching for a good book when large hands covered her eyes. She dropped the book she’s holding in surprise.
“Mitch, is it you?” she asked a little nervous. When she didn’t hear an answer, she felt irritated. “Who are you and what do you want from me?” she asked again.
