Thank God the bell finally rang right after Ms. Heckler caught me online visiting some unnecessary sites which for instance, made me annoyed. She’s always monitoring my computer. And sometimes, Kelley’s. That is so unfair because according to the law—even the most popular person in the world deserves what you call PRIVACY! And what is that monster teacher doing? She’s killing the privacy of her future digital artist students.

Whatever.

The important thing is the bell rang and once again I have to rush to the cafeteria with Kelley behind me shouting: Dane! Wait up!

Okay. Someday I have to get that trophy for being the world’s fastest walker.

“Walk fast, would you?” I said.

“Hello?” She said from afar, doing actually what I’ve just said. “I am totally not you,”

“I know. It’s just we have to rush. I’ve got tons of work to do.” I said as we finally caught up with each other.

“Like what, get in Lee’s annoying arms and kiss?”

“Lee is not annoying,” I shot back.

“Oh yeah, of course not.” She said sarcastically. “He’s not annoying if I am Dane Syler,”

“Why is the world so anti-Lee anyway?”

“Because the world knows that he does so not deserve to be called ‘yours’,”

“FINE.” And I walked past her.

“C’mon, Dane. Deal with it.” She walked in my speed and caught with me again.

“I am,” I said. “Besides, can’t we have any topic aside from Lee? Probably now he’s stumbling into somewhere else and eating some dirt,”

“Band practice later, please come!” Kelley announced enthusiastically right into my face.

“All right! I’ll be there!” I replied, switching my mood from disappointment to stillness. “Can’t wait to rock,”

“Here,” She opened her backpack and took a crumpled piece of paper. “Lyrics of It Ends Tonight by The All-American Rejects. You’re gonna need that later.”

“Wow. I love you Kelley!” I exclaimed.

“I know you’re going to love it. It’s your request, isn’t it?”

“Yeah. Thanks. Are we gonna rock this on Friday?” I asked excitedly considering our band really loves the A. A. Rejects rock.

“If you’re going to be there—well, we will.”

“YEAH! Cheers for that!” I rejoiced as we made our way inside the cafeteria and proceeded to the table where we usually sit and Lee was already there, waiting.

                “Hi,” I said dryly.

Yeah. I’m admitting to the person reading this that I’m totally dry with Lee if Kelley’s around. Even though I know she’s not minding us at all, I don’t know. Paranoia works.
