He peered over the cliff at the rocky shore below,
His heart was beating fast but time seemed to be moving slow,
The night was getting darker, cold winds were beginning to blow,
The starry night was being lit by the pale moon's glow.

Stoic as a statue, He moved closer to the edge,
He wouldn't be afraid, he'd made himself pledge,
He gazed at his feet surrounded by the growing sedge,
Preparing himself to jump over the ledge.

His baby sister suddenly popped into his mind,
What would she feel when his mangled body they would find?
His mother would completely lose her state of mind,
The magnitude of their pain would be undefined.

With such thoughts running wild, He stepped back shaking,
He couldn't bring himself to stop his resolve from breaking,
He broke into tears, his heart was aching,
Though he was hurting,he couldn't leave them behind waiting.

All the depression and sadness would in time, eventually fade,
No longer would he have to stay in the darkness or shade,
He would regain his happiness with his family's love and aid,
And be proud of himself for having endured the hardship and stayed.

However difficult times may be, I believe that we owe it to ourselves to hold on just a little longer and not give up on the life we were destined to have.It is the hard times in life that can either make or break a person.Often times the brightest rainbows follow the darkest storms.Endure the storm, wait for your rainbow and you shall in time, find your peace.
