SYNOPSIS:
SYNOPSIS: Indira Beren is something of a hopeless case. A once promising girl turned bitter waste of talent in the eyes of most who see her, she spends her days in the shadows, hiding away from the rest of the world. Her only company is a bottle of whiskey ( or two ), something to tinker with, the accursed glowing blue crystal that hangs around her neck, and her trusty droid companion called EV-1. She has no plans for the future; nothing but drinking and tinkering until her liver or lungs or heart gives out—at least, that's what she thinks, until a venerated veteran general knocks on her door with the call of her heart's desire: justice and divine vengeance and a place in the Resistance against the First Order—the very same monsters that killed her mother. With nothing left to lose, Indira decides to throw caution to the wind and join the Resistance's ranks. Every action, she knows, has its equal, opposite reaction, but this time she is ready to set her own chain reaction off.
EVEN SO, she knows the bitter taste of loss too well to ever let herself grow close to anyone again. She refuses to let her heart get caught in anyone else's crossfire—and gods forbid she would ever allow anyone to get caught in her own. For that reason, she utterly detests flyboy Poe Dameron, thinking the young commander to be far too fanciful and idealistic for her taste. His roughish charm, coupled with a fair dose of arrogance and impetuosity is enough to tell her to steer clear! of that one. And yet, against her better instincts, she often finds herself being drawn into the pilot's orbit. Soon enough, she finds herself getting used to his company, anticipating his daily visits and doses of flirtation. However, when the young commander fails to return after leaving on a top-secret mission to Jakku, Indira realizes that her feelings run much deeper for the flyboy than she ever thought they would
(whew, that was a long one)
REVIEW:
If you search up the word incredible in the dictionary, this book would come up. Seriously, this book was one of the most beautifully written, edge of my seat Star Wars fanfics I've ever read! I can't wait to see how it ends! lunimous creates a main character that is loveable yet flawed, and writes her dynamic with her love interest (Poe Dameron) amazingly. It's funny, slightly sad, exciting and always makes you wanting more! I 10/10 recommend it to everyone wanting to read a good Star Wars fic. lunimous did an amazing job with writing the fic!
