He had just turned seventeen and was really excited about his future. Corey had made plans for his future. Was working hard to get good grades and go to a Military school where he would follow his biggest dream.
Become a Marine office in the United States Marine Corps. He was an American kid at the heart,loved outdoors and dreamed of protecting his nation. Corey used to refer to the corps as "the elite of the elite." The USA flag meant "Freedom" to him. Corey would die for his country. He used to put his homework's above everything else. He was very good at school and had excellent grades. He was reading a book about the Marine Corps and their story. Several family members had served in various branches of the US military.
After his tragic death at Columbine High,his grieving mother participated in the Toys-for-Tots program organized by the USMC and donated some of Corey's fishing gear.
His grandmother contacted the USMC asking if anything could be done for her grandson's dashed dream. On May 3,2000 a ceremony was held at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery (Corey's burial place) where he was honored a Marine. That day Corey's biggest dream came true. His schoolmate and fishing buddy Brian said "Corey would have been an excellent Marine and would have been a fine officer." He recalled that Corey would always want to play the cops in the game "Cops and robbers."
On the morning of April 20,Corey was in the library to finish his homework's. He showed his friends pamphlets from military schools he wanted to go. He was really excited and happy sharing it with his friends.
Wrestling Star dream: Corey was in the wrestling Team but left it after his sophomore year to focus on his studies. He dreamed of becoming a wrestling star. He was an excellent athlete too and played cross country county. One of his favorite sports at Columbine High.

He was roughly 6 feet tall (182,88cm.) His best friend would describe him as an "outstanding athlete." A year prior to the shooting,athletes from another school recalled meeting Corey and said he was nice person.

Corey loved going to school and on the year of 1999,he had his wisdom teeth removed and the surgery forced him to miss school. He would tell his best friend he was feeling bored. Corey was working really hard to get good grades because he dreamed of attending a good college. Good grades were also a condition of Corey's parents after he expressed his desire in buying a Mustang Car.
Corey was always making plans for his future. With only seventeen year old,he was excited for his future and wanted to live new experiences. In his short seventeen years of life, he was the happiest human being. He dreamed of becoming a father and a husband and sharing his faith with his children.
